Im hoping Gray has been told by us that we will eventually pay what Brentford want for him, that we're just waiting to shift jela or hernandez. As OLM said, Id have taken the deal from whatever italian club where they loaned him for this season and they HAD to buy him at the end of the season. Thats as good as sold in my opinion and we'd use the chester/brady/ndoye/ince money to pay for Gray. Hopefully this one will eventually get done... we just need to shift a striker... I can see this one going right down to deadline day..
It's a long season, and even if we survive mostly in tact come the beginning of Septermber, those clauses are still valid come January.
Please can this thread be moderated correctly. It has deteriorated into utter drivel. I realise for a short period of time I was considered to be persona non grata, however I have now lost that label. I will endeavour to contact Steve (our kid) to get some information on potential targets and report back.
West Brom want Marshall. That may mean we could get Myhill back as he would eventually be third choice. I know he recently signed a two year contract.
http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/bristol-city-quiet-gray-deal-9890912? This is about Andre Gray "Hull remain interested on signing the striker, and have had two bids rejected in the past weeks before having one accepted and then owner Assem Allam pulling the plug on the deal, and Steve Bruce admitted as such in his post-match press conference. He said after their 2-1 win over Fulham: "No (we've not ended our interest). But whether we revisit it, you are asking the wrong person." "
http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Andre-Gray-Hull-City-dead/story-27642547-detail/story.html Andre Gray move to Hull City not dead yet Andre Gray is understood to have turned down a move to Bristol City with the Brentford striker holding out for a move to the KC Stadium. The 24-year-old, who has been the subject of three bids already by Hull Cityy, looked on course to join Bristol earlier this week when Steve Cotterill's side had a £9m bid accepted. However, there are suggestions the Bees striker is eager on a move to Hull and a deal could yet be revitalised if City meet Brentford's asking price. Asked following his side's 2-1 win over Fulham if the chase for Gray was up, Bruce said: "No, it's quite plain that we've got to meet their valuation. At the moment we can't. "We've known for long enough now how much it's going to cost. We haven't been prepared to meet Brentford's valuation. Bristol have and if we're going to revisit it, you're asking the wrong person." A long-standing interest in Chicago Fire midfielder Shaun Maloney could also bring a deal ahead of the weekend. On Maloney, Bruce added: "We believe is close now. We've made progress on that. "He's got quality from wide areas and he's played at the highest level. He's got a glowing reference from Gordon Strachan, so he could give us that little bit of quality and experience." Bruce has other targets in mind but he suggested keeping together his current crop could yet be the biggest positive he can hope for before the window closes on September 1. "If we've got what we've got now, I'm very confident we will mount a challenge," he added. "If we lose four or five, then we're in trouble. That's my fear and that's me being brutally honest. That's what we've got to guard against. I hope it doesn't come down to the last few days and we lose these players."
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Shaun Maloney is expected to join Hull in the next 48 hours after Steve Bruce saw his side move joint top of the Championship. The 32-year-old Scotland midfielder's move from MLS side Chicago Fire is nearing completion, and boss Bruce said: 'Shaun is close to joining. He's got that bit of quality on the ball, he's played at the highest level and he will give us that little bit of something extra.'
As it currently stands don't have a strong enough squad to last the season and are still in need of 2/3 players (should everyone who is here currently stay). What's concerning is that we have to shift players to to buy players . So how are we ever going to to have a strong enough squad for this season. We need a goalkeeper, central midfielder and a striker.
Stupid really as Myhill was in the team of the week. As much as I liked Myhill , I'm sure he was partial to a gaff too many.
We need another central midfielder, that's more pressing than anything. We only have 3. Ideally we'd have at least 4 preferably 5.
