I would like refs to be tougher on both diving, and shouting/swearing at them. The amount of complaining is embarrassing. Getting in a refs face should be an instant yellow

Didn't watch the game, last night, so can't comment on the fouls/not fouls being discussed.
What has always puzzled me, is why a ref will stop a corner from being taken, so he can have a chat with a couple of players that are pushing and shoving each other.
If he knows they are "at it", why not allow the kick to be taken, then give a free kick/penalty against the one he sees commit the first offence, when the ball is in play?
Is it because too many refs are afraid to make the big calls?

I have no problems with refs trying to preempt problems. 'Stop messing about boys and let's get on with this corner' seems quite reasonable to me. The players can't complain that they haven't been warned when he blows up.

My problem with this is a lot of time the players still do it and nothing given sometimes! What's the point of warning them if you're not gonna take action <doh>

My guess is because most of the time the ref wont see who started it. It will just look like a tussle in the midst of 10+ players so he'd rather not give it the wrong way. Once he talks to a couple it will act like a reset and if it starts up again he'll be more likely to spot the culprit.

So the PL have admitted Liverpool's goal should have been disallowed for offside which we all knew but somehow the officials didn't. All very well admitting this but if Bournemouth get relegated or Liverpool get top 4 because of the points allocated for this game it could cost a club millions. I appreciate that mistakes get made all the time but it's a shame that on occasions like this, when it's so obvious to everyone, that it's not possible to reallocate the points to 1 each. Impossible because it would open up a can of worms in respect of wrong decisions in other games unfortunately. Pity they don't have reviews in a game like cricket.

Are there any sports where the result can be respectively changed?
