Chicago Fire manager doesn't sound impressed with Maloney tonight. We might get a phone call in the morning
He is one of the worst managers in the MLS (he was the manger of SJ for years so I am familiar with him). I wouldn't take what he says to seriously. He just plays launch the ball upfield with no plan B. I don't think Maloney is that type of player.
dosile? Dozy? Dosser? Wtf? I'm just beginning to see why they all pick on you. Maybe we should all try to be kind to 'tards. Even the obnoxious ones. God made them for a reason. At least that's what my grandma said. She would be 133 now, if she weren't long underground. Why do you feel the need to asterisk so much? Do you have a dictionary full of asterisks? Have you tried to get your money back, ya fecker?
Problem is that sitting deep negates the so-called attacking qualities he was supposed to have - I thought we were led to believe they would all come flooding back when he lost his dreadlocks. Oh well, another Old Wives Tale, just like the one about sitting deep is a sign of a defensive midfielder who breaks up play, but hang on...
It's how he has played since he got here. Except a few forays forward. Last season he was poor, but the season before he got stacks of praise from pundits for his performances - playing the position he is now. This deep midfield role is his natural role. It's the other midfield position that has been the issue. If you play with a deep midfielder, then you need someone to play alongside him that is advanced.
But that is how he has played since he arrived. He's playing his natural game. His goals are always goals from distance or set pieces. The not set piece goals are generally from distance, as he's the last to arrive. He's played well in the last 2 games. The problem is Hayden has tried to copy him and sit deep too - which doesn't work. Look how much better we were when Meyler came on and carried the ball forward.
So are people who can't spell and write most of their post in capital letters. If you don't like the thread, simply don't read it. The very first post is updated with any transfer activity, if it happens.
The best bet would be to come back to the thread the day the window closes as that's when all our deals will occur.
Pretty certain he played higher up the pitch when he was drawing the plaudits; criticism started to come when he put on the beef and dropped back, neither being an effective threat or breaking play up, as the game simply passed him by. It resulted in him being dropped.
We should pay the price & get him in. How many times have we gone for the cheap, or in AH expensive, option & then the player we were chasing gets snapped up by one of our rivals & is a star. Then a year down the line we're linked with them again & now the price has gone up & we offer low but above the original price we didn't want to pay! It's the one thing that seems to happen again & again!
The way I see a deep midfield role is ashbee, someone who does the donkey work so basically breaks up play and puts his foot in (the statos will be along to tell me thudd does) I just think he's wasted in that position he doesn't create anything his range of passing looks pretty but it's in our half left to right. Last season against Chelsea he didn't play and our midfield looked much better. Our midfield with him in that role is a poor unit I was hoping phelan would open brucies eyes now I'm hoping the hammers take him
They can make all the contract offers they like, he doesn't have to accept. I think his head has been turned and he will move before the window shuts, whether it's to us or not only TWT. Surprised that there haven't been more suitors for his services? Seems like a real prospect to me and he's started the season well.
