Hull target Andre Gray in Brentford's squad for Bristol City trip Andre Gray will be in Brentford's squad for Saturday's trip to Bristol City, despite interest from Hull City. The Bees have rejected three bids for the former Luton frontman, who came of the bench to score against Ipswich on the opening day. Gray missed the 4-0 Capital One Cup defeat to Oxford on Tuesday as he was rested but could be in line to face the Robins. Head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen said: “There is no news. I expect he will be playing on Saturday for us. “There's a lot of clubs being linked with him but I'm not involved with that. He'll be playing on Saturday. “It's difficult for him. I spoke with him a lot about it last week. We'll speak when we go to the hotel tomorrow. “If he plays well on Saturday, then it's good for himself. He'll be in the squad.” http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...ws/hull-target-andre-gray-brentfords-9851204?
If Ehab is busy with the Arena issue for a couple of days, I can't see any further negotiations taking place for now - unless of course someone else is working on his behalf. I'd like to see Gray here as I think he's hungry enough. I simply cannot believe this is stalling for 500K on our part. Something else but must be at issue. I am usually a 'glass half full' type but even I am am getting the feeling this won't happen.
This is becoming a bit of a joke now. If we're at a "stalemate" then we need to be targeting other strikers. Brentford are serious about keeping him and wont accept any bids unless its exactly what they want. Thats fair enough, he's their player and they dont need to sell. We know this... so we either pay what they want or move on... i cant understand the delay.. its been weeks now.
It's starting to remind me of the chase for Fraizer Campbell, and that didn't have a happy ending. The real issue with this now, for me, is we've let it go on for far too long, allowing other clubs to get involved should they want to. Now the season has started any PL teams that are thinking their attack maybe isn't looking the finished article will be thinking about having a bid, in the sure knowledge that if it doesn't work out for him in the PL that they'll always be able to offload him to a relegated club at the end of the season.
Apparently, Bristol have given Gayle until tomorrow night to say if he's coming or not, though it's easier if it's simply the players decision.
Lets move on from Gray now. It's starting to look desperate. Our transfer dealings always seem to be handled in a very amateur way!!!!
Amateur would be paying up without a fight. How do you know it isn't us stalling until we shift one of our strikers. Maybe we can't commit until Hernandez is sorted? Getting bored of people equating inaction with amateurism.
We have Ehab in charge of negotiations. He admits to knowing nothing of football and he's been involved in the game for a very short time. He actually is an amateur.
If we have to wait why have we bid 3 times already Is that not ameture? And we have already moved one of our strikers on!!!!
For someone in such a crucially important position, who knew absolutely zilch five years ago, yes I'd definitely say he was an amateur.
Patience Patience. Nobody knows for sure what is going on behind the scenes. Plus if Andre Gray is acting up @ Brentford sooner or later they will accept our bid. No point keeping a player who wants out. SB will have other targets anyway. The jigsaw puzzle will come together. No need to panic just yet. The form of Greg Luer is a Brucie bonus atm.
