There was something inevitable about it, after Hughes, AJ and Bobby Zamora. With any luck the next of our cast-offs to wash up there will be Magath.
Bolton have rejected our bid for Tim Ream. Speaking to reporters last night after they lost to Burton in the Capital One Cup Neil Lennon said, "We have had two bids, one from QPR and one from Fulham. They are not the valuation we see the player at so it is as you are. If and when a bid comes in that satisfies the club, we have a decision to make."
Still expecting a couple more good signings before Deadline Day - it would be disappointing if not seeking to spend a further £5-10m. COYW!
The worrying factor is the players who may not be with us 21days from now. I see Mc C has been added to the rumour list
A report this morning states that Bolton have agreed a £1.4m deal with QPR for Tim Ream, as yet, not confirmed. " Article states Fulham are also interested but have not made any official bid". I do not know enough about this player to comment, but surely if one is interested bids must be made.
I don't know to much about Ream other than he has played for the full USA team and reports state he has been Bolton's player of the year for the last two seasons. QPR mate states that they are desperate for centre backs similar position to us need at least 1 definately possibly two
Incredible really, but true - I understood that we did make a bid and are prepared to make another. Here's a link to the rest of the ESPN story: http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2561723/fulham-still-want-tim-ream-as-qpr-agree-fee-sources And elsewhere other stories say that Newcastle are in for Lewis Dunk. Is Mike Rigg incapable of closing deals? He seems to be playing the transfer window like an ebay auction!
"And elsewhere other stories say that Newcastle are in for Lewis Dunk. Is Mike Rigg incapable of closing deals? He seems to be playing the transfer window like an ebay auction!" We are proper mugs if we don't get Dunk. Seriously, this should have been sorted weeks ago! Ream looks all set to go to QPR for £2.4m. FFS! Give Bolton £3-4m, job done. If they really want a player then pay up, simple as that. We're not in a position to drag our arses to save a few hundred K. AAAAARRRGGGGHHHHH
Maybe we had a deal done with Brighton and Newcastle got in touch with his agent and said they were trying to sign him so the player himself is stalling on signing, waiting for Newcastle's bid to be accepted. It's not always as black and white as we haven't offered enough or Mike Rigg isn't doing enough.
New bid made for Tarkowski of Brentford, all over the inter web in the last 30 minutes, believed to be in the region of £3 million
We can probably give up on Tarkowski at this stage. Brentford's new record signing CB Andreas Bjelland has been ruled out for possibly the full season with a cruciate injury. There's no way they'll let Tarkowski go now.
The Gayle deal could still be on. He has apparently rejected Bristol City because he wants to stay in London. Pretty much leaves it between us and QPR.
I read that Gayle rejected Bristol City because he didn't want to drop into the Championship. If that's the case, things don't look so rosy.
Latest gossip at the Cottage is, to which there could be some credibility is An initial bid of 8 mil (expected to rise) for Ross Mc, from Hull, could there be something in this as we have been reported to have offered 8m for CPs Gayle 4.5m offered for Brentfords Tarkowski 1.5 and 3m already having been turned down This if true, looks as though the Dunk deal is now dead.
Selling Ross Mc would be stupid IMO, so I'm hoping it's just fluff. Otherwise, it would epitomise the last 3 years. Pity about the Dunk deal seeming off; should have put in a proper slam-dunk bid in the first place? Off to The Cottage later for the first of many.....so COYW!!!
Hasn't McCormack just signed an extended contract? Unless the purpose of that was to take out an inconvenient release clause (did he have one? I have no idea) then surely that means we want to keep him and he's happy to stay. If it was a Premier League side coming in for him, I might believe it, butI'd be surprised if he saw Hull, with their name-changing chairman and all the attendant discord, as a better club to play for than us right now.
Several reports state that we have snatched and signed Ream from QPR, I will believe this when he runs onto the pitch in a Fulham shirt. even then I may still have doubts
