    Tbh he is more a plan B+. It is hard to say who is better out of Koulibaly and Dijk.

    If both are available for around the 10-15m mark then why not get both? It's not like we have a load of centre backs with Gardos' injury, if we were to get 2 in then we could possibly loan McCarthy out for regular game time and have Fonte/Yoshida/VVD/Koulibaly as our 4, which would be pretty great.

    *I know this is almost certainly not going to happen

    Oh yeah forgot about him :D

    Still if Koulibaly and VVD turn out as good as the hype suggests then it still makes sense to get both if the opportunity is there as Fonte isn't going to be around for ever, and no doubt we could do the usual with showcasing them in the PL and selling them on for a higher fee in a couple of years anyway.

    Not like there's a trend for teenage defenders or anything, a la Reece Oxford or Joe Gomez, who both started at the weekend.

    Anyway, they're only training him for Chelsea or Man City.

    Follow Di Marzio and he is very good. Think I've been reading Dzeko to Roma since May for instance, but with Saints he has had a pretty poor strike rate thus far.

    Yes, not every transfer ends up as a deal for a variety of reasons, but this feels like another smokescreen.

    That price seems way too cheap. I think I like Koulibaly more than Van Dijk. But that is most likely just because I have seen Koulibaly play much more and been impressed with him.

    If we get either one, I'm happy.
