Clasie. Juanmi could also play just infront of the 2 dm's. Prowse as well. You then have Tadic.

I do agree that I'd place an attacking central mid above another DM as a priority, but it would appear that Koeman thinks otherwise, potentially because they feel that Clasie will grow into a more advanced role.

For Feyenoord he nearly always did play a bit further forward then a typical dm.

Barca and Chelsea so can't be bad. Let hope we can unlock that potential. 3 years is unusual for us, I wonder if he only wanted to sign for that long or whether we are a bit concerned about his potential/injuries. Speaks well but as others have said another one with dodgy hair. The club needs to provide some of these guys with mirrors or better still a barber.

Tadic, Mane, Jayrod, Clasie, Steven Davis, JWP, Long, Juanmi, will all be creating.

I just think players shouldn't be pigeon-holed and although fans may see some of the above as forwards, they do creative work in midfield too.

I do agree with Tom that you can't "expect" a midfielder to score a certain number of goals; they all are piece of a jigsaw and the more defensive ones allow the likes of Tadic and Mane to score or be creative.

Yeah, I'd expect him to play further forward than a true DM as well, but he has tended to stay outside the box for the most part when I've seen him. As the forwardmost of three mids, that might not always be ideal.

We can change it loads this season. Last season we were screwed.

All the pondering about who plays where, we should leave it to Ron.

The club have pulled out another "under the radar" signing and a good one at that. Well done Les, now let's enjoy the new found flexibility and hope it drives us on again.

Seven new signings plus Jayrod back. Squad looking deeper and stronger. We should all be very happy.

Up the Saints.
