Bristol City are battling Hull for Andre Gray —as Dwight Gayle holds out for a move to Norwich. City boss Steve Cotterill confirmed the club bid £6million for Gayle last night. But with the Crystal Palace striker waiting to see if a switch to Carrow Road will materialise, the Robins have stepped up their interest in Brentford hitman Gray as an alternative. Steve Bruce's Hull have been leading the chase for Gray and are keen to reunite the £7m-rated forward with Moses Odubajo, who left Griffin Park for the KC Stadium in a £3.5m deal last week. Cotterill is desperate to boost his wafer-thin squad to ensure he has the tools to keep City up this season after promotion from League One. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/6524746/SunSports-daily-transfer-round-up.html
Bristol City were in for Gray early in the window but never followed up after they were quoted £7m. Clearly they are prepared to pay that sort of money now though
