I do not see any bias Jimmy. Moreno played loads last season and so did Sako. Lucas played when fit but is no longer reliable due to injuries

I am sorry but that bias seems to only exist in your head. Firmino Sturridge Coutinho Can have all been signed by Rodgers by your logic or is it players you seem to want to use while criticizing Rodgers?

I think the bias concern stems from how Moreno and Markovic have all been easily dropped after one year, but Lallana and Lovren are afforded far more opportunities.

Re. Sakho - I don't think it could be made any clearer on how he's simply not fancied by Rodgers and is dropped at any opportunity while Lovren is the number 1 target. He only played last year because Lovren was injured - if he was not injured, he wouldn't have been dropped. Moreno was the only fit left back last season as well.

Why don't we have this discussion after 20 games? It's only one match and all the players who didn't feature got a run out in a closed door friendly. It's a squad game and everyone will get their chance.

If we managed to get Illaremendi I think our squad would be the best we've had for a number of years. Shifting dead wood and bringing in quality is a must for us, and so far we're not doing too badly. Borini and Balotelli to go, and perhaps one of Allen and Lucas (only if we could secure Illaremendi) would turn this window into a great one.

I'm quite excited about how much potential we actually have now. If the likes of Firmino and Can get a settled position we could be a very good team indeed.

You would surely hope so. If a manager wasn't capable of making decisions like that for the club he simply doesn't deserve to be a manager. Even a manager for pub football. A managers job is to do the best for the club - so he'll know that more than any of us surely!

I actually like Rodgers and I'm probably in the minority when I say that, yeah he's still learning but everyone is no matter how old you are. But I'm glad the owners didn't move him on and gave his the chance to go again. But yeah he's clearly on thin ice - but that's not a bad thing, it will just either prove he's got the bottle, or whether he just wasn't quite right for us.

Either way I fully expect him to have a very good managerial career.

Yes it is.. its got options every where bar LB and CM based on the players we have so compared to when rodgers started

    Brad Jones
    Pepe Reina
    Doni

    Defenders
    Glen Johnson
    José Enrique - sick note
    Daniel Agger -sick note
    Fábio Aurélio -total sick note
    Sebastián Coates -dross
    Jamie Carragher -decrepit
    Martin Kelly -sick note
    Martin Škrtel
    Jon Flanagan #average
    Jack Robinson - child

    Midfielders
    Steven Gerrard - past it.
    Maxi Rodríguez - past it
    Jordan Henderson 21 years old
    Stewart Downing muck
    Jay Spearing #journeyman
    Lucas At his best
    Charlie Adam #journeyman
    Raheem Sterling Child
    Jonjo Shelvey muppet

    Forwards
    Luis Suárez worldie... racist... biter...
    Andy Carroll - sick note
    Dirk Kuyt past it
    Craig Bellamy past it.

    ....................

If you look at this rodgers was handed an average squad and his signings were indeed mixed... It was a real pity he didn't rely on reina and agger more but he really only had a few guys up to the job didn't he? a lot of guys who were getting on and not up to it or sick notes

We've now seens 3 years of buying build the current squad... what you would have to say is there's just a few guys hanging on but everyone else is young enough and fit enough (barring sturridge) to call it a much better quad of players.

Until we see firmino explode on the scene we don't know but it lacks the worldie to lead it.... and thats hard to get.

Mingolet is a decent keeper, but not amazing.
Bogdan is as average as jones but there you go

    Clyne is an improvement
Gomez is the best young defneder i've seen since rob jones
Wisdom is a unit and on loan better than kelly?
    Sketl still there
Lovern in I defend him as i think he plays o nthe front foot
    Sahko in as well
    TOure is dead wood
Enrique will be cone = he is the aurelio of this team
    Moreno is not great

Henderson - top of his game imo
    Milner - good willing runner
Can - very good but needs to get really fit imo. much better than shelvey.
    Allen - #average
lucas... past it at 28.. sad
coutinho - magic little player.. maxi not a patch on him
    lallana #light weight
    ibe: child
    markovic... not sure

    Benteke - beast
    Sturridge - sick note
    ings - sub
    origi - potential

I mean seriously theres options every where for rodgers.... not saying they are all that but from where he took over the direction is very much in keeping with strategy... young, fitter, better players.

it is still not top 4 IMO..... but there you go.. it is still going in the right direction rather than down the pan.

We have a lot of young talent in the side.

Whether Rodgers is patient enough to develop them or even trust them is another question.

Our defence is going to be tested at the Emirates. If Skrtel and Lovern can come back with a clean sheet
    then they are good defenders.

or the whole team did well.... 2 players can't defend on their own.

  11. I was about to say similar. A manager should be his own man and believe in his own ideas. He shouldn't be so stubborn as to not listen to anyone else either though but ultimately, it's his job and his decisions so I appreciate him doing what he thinks is right.

Can't say I'm impressed that Sakho is out of favour (again) but if Lovren and Skrtel can form a good understanding and partnership then so be it. The time will tell when either of those aren't performing meaning Sakho deserves a go, I hope Brod isn't going to be a stubborn batard and not pick the Frenchman on principle. If he is stubborn then he deserves every bit of stick he gets, if he picks Sakho regardless then he deserves support IMO.

  12. Cheers for the summery ;)

If true, Markovic, Moreno and Origi (bit harsh since he only joined the squad recently) aren't exactly biting at the bit to be included anyway.

Its still one man's opinion though.

Yes, but since emerged that Sakho made himself available and had been training during the week.

And similar situations including Henderson and Allen but both were picked.

and i think such things are largely irrelevant

what the players at the club did this week should be all thats important... if you could hand on heart say that a SINGLE (including sahko) player who was bteer than that on the pitch was over looked the manager should be sapped upside the head.

lovern did just fine.. gomez is better than moreno as of now.. firmino is not fit so lallana started.. can looks chubby.... in the end rodgers picked an 11... I would rather can and firmino get into that 11 ASAP... ibe and lallana are the two top crop out to make this happen

  16. See Jimmy's thread or response here...

...don't know how true any of it is, only thing I know is he didn't play. I'm quite happy to go with Skrtel and Lovren after their performance against Stoke TBH.
