Looks like no go on Maloney - which is a shame as I think he'd be a good addition Maloney staying The Fire declined a bid from Hull City for Shaun Maloney last week and it didn’t sound like the Scottish attacker is going anywhere soon. Even if the Fire lose out on Wednesday night. The offer from Hull came too close to the close of the MLS summer window for the Fire to make a move to replace Maloney, even if they wanted to consider an offer. “We got the sort of final-ish offer two or three days before the end of our window and it wasn’t a significant offer,” said Yallop. “It was more of them feeling the waters out, I think. Shaun was passive on the whole thing. He said, ‘look I’m a Chicago Fire player, if someone comes in and you accept the offer then I’ll talk to them – other than that I’m a Fire player’. He stuck to his word. Everything is fine. When it’s done, the offer didn’t get increased and the window closed for us. It didn’t give us any time to get any more players other than free transfers. Shaun is with us now and that’s good for everybody.”
Yep, what impresses me most is his clinical, confident finish; he never looks like he thinks anything else is possible, his body language makes the prospect of a row-z laughable. It might sound daft, but his style isn't something you coach into him, it's simply natural talent that you build on with opportunity. Let's get him in the door!
If you want to buy a Judge, you need to involve Carmine Gallant; he'll know how to make him an offer he can't refuse...
I saw him as a replacement for Quinn & an upgrade - I think his goals scoing record below for a midfielder is pretty impressive Number 10 Senior career* Years Team Apps† (Gls)† 2000–2007 Celtic 104 (26) 2007–2008 Aston Villa 30 (5) 2008–2011 Celtic 54 (13) 2011–2015 Wigan Athletic 79 (14) 2015– Chicago Fire 12 (3) National team‡ 2002–2005 Scotland U21 20 (6) 2007 Scotland B 1 (1) 2005– Scotland 40 (5)
Burnley bid for Gray... http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/08/10/por-burnley-bid-for-hull-target-gray/? Maloney woukd have been ideal for us, he's just what we're missing.
I still think we're in poll position for Gray but no doubt the Brentford massive would rather sell to Burnley! Gray forcing the opposition defences deeper,Maloney occupying the hole would have been ideal.
Gray would prefer to come to us. Odubajo is here and we are more likely to get promoted and increase his wages further than Burnley.
If Burnley really are in then it makes us look really ****ing stupid for wasting time with the bullshit about pulling out of the deal a week ago when we are now seemingly prepared to pay what they asked for in the first place
