Brunt > Xavi. About 5 years ago I used to use that as a weapon against anyone pointing out things via comparative stats.West Brom V City tonight, Tony Pulis gets the chance to start the season in charge of a new premier league team after leaving Stoke (and the resigning from Palace before the season started). I like the look of his squad as he has signed players with premier league experience, he has a system and waits for the right player to be available and signs that player for a specific reason.
Last season West Brom kept 14 clean sheets and Brunt had 10 assists, impressive return. We only kept 8 clean sheets and Eriksen only managed 4 assists. Brunt is one of them underrated players that could have played for a bigger club.
Brunt had more goals and more assists in less games in a worse team, when compared to one of the best players in the world.
I like him and I think that his importance for West Brom is often overlooked, but I think that stats can be very misleading at times.
They're a handy guide for some things and a total waste of time for others.
