About an hour ago, he replied to OLM on Twitter who posted a link to one of the articles saying we had pulled out.
If I had to guess where the confusion has come from its that our previous bid was for a double deal with both players. Having signed one that bid has obviously been pulled and a new bid is in the process of being submitted.
Gray will be the new Craig ***an, Hooper the new Paul Hunter, and we will storm the league with Dawson as top scorer with 6 goals
I mentioned this quite a while ago that we were interested in Hooper, will be interesting to see if this one happens.
Hopefully Gray has a stinker tomorrow. Otherwise Brentford might decide they won't tell sell or at best add a few million to his price tag.
I read an interesting piece about Brentford and the way their owner runs his clubs. Apparently, goalscoring records bare absolutely no thought whatsoever in the process of scouting and targeting a striker. That's the way it should be. Just because a striker does well in one team with particular players and style of play doesn't mean he'll carry on in another, and vice versa.
Yep, it's what led the Danish club he also owns to being champions over there - they're playing Soton in the next round of the Europa League. Very similar to the Moneyball story.
Yes, we have an excellent record in that department with such goal-scoring machines as Altidore, Proschwitz, Cousin, Sagbo, Graham and Hernandez. Unfortunately for us there was no 'vice-versa'!
I've just been on the Brentford forum and they're outraged that the club are talking openly about Gray in the media because they saw a tweet from @hullcityafcaus and thought it was an official club account
