I do hope Broad manages to get his 10...
I don't think Broad will bowl again tonight, he looks completely done.

And the umpires have called it off for bad light. Oh well, at least the people who have tickets for tomorrow will see some play, and an England victory. And it gives Broad a chance of a ten-for as well.

Yeah, disappointing to go off, but probably a good thing for Broad.

Makes you wonder what could have happened had if a Lords Test had not been on the agenda for the Aussies as this the venue where they usually win in an Ashes series.

I never for one moment believed that England were that hopeless 18 months ago but with the key personnel now removed from the scene the English dressing room is obviously buzzing again, and Cook is playing and captaining the team with a greater degree of flexibility and imagination.

I agree with your observation on Alistair Cook's captaincy - this year he has slowly been evolving as a captain and during this series he has really come good. A lot of credit to Ian Bell too for stepping down as vice captain without any apparent fuss and handling over to Joe Root, who is def going to be the next captain and if his back holds up a cricketing superstar. From outside looking in it does seem to be a fairly harmonious dressing room - at the moment ! We seem to have finally got over the KP issue thankfully. Cook will deserve a lot of credit come the end of this series.

Assume it's 11:00 start again? I'm at a wedding now; just waiting for the coach from hotel to church... Service is 12:00, so hoping all over by then.

Be interesting to see how this turns out. Could see us having to get a silly low score....scarcely worth putting your pads on for....though it would be nice to be the batsman to get the winning run. Or the Aussies could fold. Place your bets, gentlemen.

Oh thanks you gents, very sporting if you.

Get in!!!!

Now to brace myself... I may not have mentioned, but one family at this wedding is Irish.... It's going to be a long day and night of drinking :)

(Although, quick update: coach driver had had a nightmare. We left the hotel 40 minutes ago to do about 12 miles. Instead of taking the A road to the church, he dropped on to the M25 and now we are stuck in crawling, first gear traffic. The service starts in 15 minutes and there are two coach loads of guests not there <laugh><laugh>
