For a team that was predicted to be over-powered by the Aussies, that was mightily impressive. Cook's captaincy has been surprisingly innovative and he deserves a lot of praise for winning the series.

Sad for Clarke (a bit) but it's the right time to go. Steve Smith the obvious person to take over and lead a new generation of Australians to decades of oblivion. :emoticon-0130-devil

He nearly swore yesterday, what's he said now?
He went it the England dressing room... which was a stupid idea. He then got soaked in champagne and beer. He tried to carry on doing the interview, but his talkback kept giving him a electric shock.<laugh>

It was Ian Ward, not Warne, but it was hilarious!

Clarke retiring from international cricket.

Shame his career had to end like this really. He may be an Aussie, but he was a class batsman in his prime.

I feel the same. He wasn't one of the annoying dick head Aussie players.

Which may have been the cause of his downfall, the Aussies wouldn't have played like this under the Chappells, Border, Steve Waugh or Ponting. All great captains and each with a bit of nastiness in them. This present Aussie team have rolled over more times than an obedient Spaniel. Much to my delight of course but it's a bit of a surprise that they haven't shown the fight you usually associate with Aussies.

Here's a good story from a time when the Aussies behaved like men; http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/605597.html
