I never really liked the direction they went on after this guy left though. I thought Fishermans Blues was pretty pish. It sounds better now though I have to say.

Wallinger had a brain tumour and was out of action for ages. The fat dancer stole his band and fairly shamelessly his music.

Definitely one of this wee country's best imports

TO be honest I don't really think we can claim him as such he was about two when he moved. Still he's more Scottish than Rod Stewart.

I don't know if I said this one to you before, but I worked with his wee cousin years ago. He said Byrne was hysterical. They went to visit him and DB used to get up in the middle of the night and set up all these bizarre pranks throughout the house. He would tie doors shut with string and have buckets of water falling on their heads a sort of one man Tam Shephard.

You have told me, Mo, but it would never get old! :) it is exactly how i imagine him to be.

Sadly i only saw him once , and he preceded to spend half the gig doing operatic numbers <laugh>

Oh, and I was only 2 when I came here, and I was definitely a good import :emoticon-0131-angel
