Yeah but goalscorers are a premium
Why would we struggle to turn down £6m? Matthew Benham & the club aren't desperate for the money. He's a fan and would rather we keep our top goalscorer then sell him to a Championship rival.

Odubajo's price was written in to his contract via the release clause.

Is it a fitness thing then? Because Philly didn't give him a contract after his one month trial for his technical ability. They made no mention of a fitness problem with him but said he was not technical enough to warant a contract.

The one thing most people around me were noticing when we saw him was how knackered he looked... whilst jogging! There's something just not right.

I know that, my point was that no club would sell a player below their own valuation. Not just Brentford.

It wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't noticed by Philly. Some English player was saying on TV that practice in the U.S. was only half as long as it was in England, I think it was a Dallas player but I might be wrong on that. If he isn't fit AND he isn't technical enough for Philly then I can't imagine we offer him a deal.

So Turner was sold at a price that met the clubs valuation?

I don't know about all that. The premium is for players that can't score. Evidence = Hernadez.

In fairness... Hernandez has scored more than the rest of our strikers so far this season, with less game time.

Essentially yes. His sale was required to cover off some other urgent financial commitment. The club was under different stewardship then, so this example is mostly irrelevant. If the offer hadn't met the clubs valuation, or the club hadn't needed to sell, then I am sure that they wouldn't have.

Oh and by the way your previous owners stitched us up over the Turner move to Sunderland. We were due a sell on fee but due to undervaluing and some other paperwork shenanigans little or no money came back to Griffin Park. I suspect this hasn't been forgotten by fan and owner Matthew Benham.

That's a myth, at the time we thought £4m for Turner was far too cheap (he was certainly worth more to us than that), but as it turned out, it was about right.

So there are two valuations the public one and a lesser bottom line one that the club will accept?

He was a complete waste of money for us. He was also a complete cock when out locally too. Promised so much and delivered so little.

Naturally. Did we get the £15m we advertised as the price for Brady?

So how did we lose £7/8m.

It's not a myth that many of our fans believe there was a stitch up to reduce the sell on fees which involved the next day signing of Paul McShane from Sunderland. If that includes Matthew Benham then I assume he will demand his full asking price (£6m or £8m I don't know) for Andre Gray and no less.

We didn't lose any money. We sold at £7m because the offer met the valuation set by the board. We didn't sell at the previous offers made by Norwich because they didn't meet our valuations. It's not difficult.
