She certainly sang with a scouse accent from the very start of her career. Bought up in Liverpool from a working class family? Of course she had a scouse accent. Not sure where Carrabuh is coming from here, maybe a failed contestant on Blind Date?

You only have to listen to her ...standard english, standard english lorra lorra laffs, standard english, chuck.

It was fake and ramped up for the stupid viewers of ITV to make her endearing.

There are some proper idiots on here. You don't have to like her or even respect her, but have some decency and say nothing if you've got nothing good to say.

RIP Cilla.

And you are prime candidate number one chump.

Its a discussion forum, not an appreciation society.

Perhaps, but when the thread is set up, as it clearly was, as an appreciation of her life, then that´s how it should be treated, not as a platform for your disrespectful, petty jibes. If you´ve got nothing respectful to say, then, on a thread like this, another time, stay away.

To be honest, there is not alot of appreciation of her going on.

Alot of people will agree she was untalented, annoying, unfunny, low brow and fake.

I would separate her 60's singing career from the Blind Date stuff which I agree was awful, although no more so than celebrity dancing/baking/sewing/fecking off to the jungle with those little light bulb headed c***s.

Had she actually had anything serious to offer, musically, at least, I'd maybe more sympathetic.
Beatles-penned songs to start and commercial rubbish on the back of that.
That Blind Date bullshit, however, for me, was a fake scouse bridge too far.
I hope we had a thread for the demise of a proper singing talent, Dusty Springfield? :emoticon-0112-wonde

I don't have records dating back far enough, so exhibit (a) is nonexistent <ok>
RIP Dusty :emoticon-0153-broke.

Just a thought here, guys?
If there was an inter-forum 606 competition to see who could derail threads in the most wild and imaginative manner, I firmly believe NCFC is in with a shout!

Back to the OP - RIP Cilla...RIP infinitely more Dusty <ok>

( I read the blurb, it's all purely opinions  )
