Surprise surprise, the unexpected hits you between the eyes.

    Such prophetic and moving lyrics.

Sorryn Gandy, I wasn't trying to round up on her, i was just questioning if she was any good. I am not saying she was a bad perosn, her shows were pisspoor IMO but it was her singing particularly that I thought was mediocre at best. She wasn't a Bassey was she?

And you have the nerve to call Cilla "unfunny"? <doh>

****'s sake this is low, real low - and I was just starting to like you as well.
Were you not brought up to respect the dead? I certainly was, and though I wasn't particularly a fan of hers myself I certainly wouldn't stoop to some of this **** you're coming out with. If I caught anyone being so ****ing disrespectful to any of my relatives who have passed away they wouldn't do it twice.

Perfect example of how to make yourself look an arsehole, well done <applause>

As opposed to betting on when people will die which is of course much better. Financial gain or dark humour, I'm fairly sure I know which is the more offensive.

Dont pick and choose your outrage.

In addition, it's putting a twist on the overly sentimental guff of what she was involved in.

Don't really want to do this any more, but just wanted to reply to this, as I felt it was a genuine question (unlike some of the posts on here - dark humour my arse!).

Yes her shows were the usual ITV standard (i.e, crap), and no, she was no Bassey.

She recorded a couple of decent songs, her voice wasn't brilliant, far too nasal, and she strained it, which is why she couldn't hit a note later. She was singing during my formative years, and I remember her as a nice, funny young girl, that's all. Respect costs nothing.

Not especially talented but very much part of the Mersey phenomenon of the 60's that was an immensely powerful part of the youth of those of us born before the mid 50's. Taking the piss out of the dead? Hard one, I did out of the Bin Ladens and their plane crash. It does no harm as long as you are careful to avoid those affected by it.

The most inane, puerile and mindless posting ever on this board.

Mods - how can you allow this pathetic drivel to appear on here ?

Totally pathetic, totally tasteless, total tosser.

There are a few slight differences. It was never my idea, someone was running it on the office when I started that job, I've already accepted that it was in bad taste, hence we don't do it anymore. Oh, and nobody was poking fun at dead people.

You seem to be taking great pride in it for some reason, laughing at the expense of a little old lady passing away, what a guy <ok>

As for Cilla, whilst none of us were particularly fans of hers, lots of people around the country were, and she did in her own way bring enjoyment to those people's lives, and I'm guessing she made a lot of people very happy on that Surprise, Surprise thing that she did.

Wonder what Carrabuh has done lately?

    Total meltdown.

Do you not see the humour that the lyrics for this dreadful TV show, full of over sentimental heartstring pulling over the top trash are turned into something quite the opposite.

I do find it funny, and I like biting humour. I wouldn't make the same joke if that didn't apply.

And besides, you seemed to like it, (slow down, your a bit trigger happy with the likes).

Dave have a word please, uncalled for geriatric ramblings. I'm sure this goes against the rules.

I'm only joking Oldcanariesfan. You can say what you want about me. Be mindful though, others are not as gentle, kind and forgiving as myself.

I am pretty laid back about pisstaking. It goes on all the time. I remember the Brighton bomb and a joke that was doing the rounds within hours. Q Who is the fastest reader in Britain? A Norman Tebbit - he went through five storeys in three seconds.

I was at school with the Brighton bomber (I'm not kidding).

Didn't find him funny at all. Poor me.
