Lambert's a good player and he'll score goals when used correctly. He's not a super sub. Rodgers signed him without seeming to have a plan for how to use him. Arguably he signed him simply because he is a Scouser.
Can you explain why he signed a player who blatantly didn't fit into any of Liverpool's formations/playing styles? I think it was a signing based on emotion rather than logic. He thought Lambert would be some kind of local boy super sub. I don't think Balotelli was a logical signing either, more like another example of Rodgers' massive ego and belief that he is some kind of Svengali man manager.
Fair enough. Lambert was a great signing, the perfect player to fit into Liverpool's system hence such a stonking season and a new long term contract. Liverpool Specs!

No one left to buy. I generally think it's smart to do all transfer business early. Not to have players unfamiliar with the club, or Ill prepared on the pitch come the first whistle blown.
Agree with this. Unless it's some long drawn out transfer but even then if you started the process at the start of the summer it shows some degree of organisation.

Henderson - bottler. Coutinho caught in possession because he has no options around him. Similar to when Suarez came in his first season and had to do everything. 2 man midfield of Henderson and Milner is NEVER going to work. Both are not good enough - they need quality around them.
i don't agree with henderson bottler but they haven't done anything and helsinki could pres sright onto the two clowns at the back. I'm in jimmy's camp now #flipflopper.... this won't work as a systen this year at all. but we still won't let in 60 goals... period.
