More players will go though, sadly it's inevitable. On the bright side hopefully it's just N'Doye and Hernandez but I'm sure we'll get interest in a lot of our players. I expect us to bring in around 10 players though by the time the window shuts and maybe even more.
It seems we're looking at two loans from Arsenal, the second being 22 year old Argentinian keeper Damián Martínez.
Why so? 2 are in, Bruce wants 5 more. I still think it's inevitable that the 3 strikers will go, they'll bring in £12m-ish in transfer fees and get another £3m-ish off the wage bill, assuming that their combined wage is around £70k pw as has been touted. That gives us a fair few quid to spend and they need replacing. So I don't think 9/10 new faces is optimistic really at all.
Bentley must definitely be off or not looking good if we are looking at this Martinez. They are worlds apart both in experience and ability (I am assuming given his loan clubs).
Martinez has had two loan spells in the Championship. I can't imagine that he'd come in to be second choice though
On 2nd look, maybe his credentials are not as bad as I first thought. I will be interesting to watch a new keeper come and see who Bruce puts as number one. I suspect it will still be McGregor with one last chance.
How do you know this? Is there a picture of him or did you see him yourself? Or did you get someone from London to plant a tracker on his car?
Amen. I agree. We are going to look like chumps if he goes off to be one of the better keepers in the premier league, all because we wouldn't pay £1.5 million.
Exactly, if we're willing to to pay £1m for him, but they want £1.5m.. big deal? i know thats easy to say as its not my money, and it is 500k.. but in football transfer terms, its bugger all. take it off the Chester money, or the Brady money... or maybe the Ince money.... or the original transfer budget... or.. you get the idea..

We spent the last 5 years trying to sort the keeper position out thought at one point we'd cracked with McGregor, the problem I have with loan player's is, if they turn up with a recall clause in the loan agreement, remember how Sunderland muck us around over Elmo and Meyler recalling both of them at one point putting a gun to city's head saying buy them or forget them.
^ this...very good English keepers are like hens teeth...if the Arsenal no. 3 turns out to be a star then great but we won't be able to buy him
The problem is though that it's not £1.5m, it's going to be nearer £2m. That's a lot of money for a keeper who's only played at League 2 level. Butland only cost £3.3m and he'd played in the Championship too. It's not like last year, we don't have the money to spend on players who might not make the first XI. £2m is a significant chunk out of our budget and I'd rather see the money put towards Odubajo and Gray
