I'm inclined to agree. Jobson was better in the air and had more footballing ability. Chester has better concentration. I'll miss him - but £8m is a fair fee. As with Brady, we've not done terribly on the deal.
Jobbo was top class, as was the veteran (when he came to us) Billy Baxter - Chester is certainly in a similar class.
Jobbo was superb, and probably one of my fav players at his time here, but he did a cracking job for us in the old division 2, would he have done a similar job in Div 1 as what Chezzy has done for us in the Prem? I'd say yeah, but that doesn't take away the fact that Chezzy was a class act and probably one of the best defenders we've had in 20 years. I'm surprised no mid-table teams came in for him. Good luck to him, a true professional and all round decent chap.
Oh Jimmy Chester He's neither here nor there Oh Jimmy Chester He's not in Leicester Oh Jimmy Chester 'cos Chester's signed for West Brom
For all the clamour for big money signings the 2 best defenders I've seen at our club were both snips, Jobbo at 40k and Chezzy at 300k. Both could play right back and centre back, both comfortable on the ball, in fact the only differences I can see between the 2 are about 4 inches and a blonde mullet
Paul Feasey Terry Neill Viggo Jensen - but he played in all positions except GK and wing. Brilliant tackler
