£14m for Jordan Rhodes or £7m for Mad Mario does seem tad pissed tbf. It shows how his stock has fallen and how desperate you are to get his £100k a week salary off the wage bill. Someone will have a crack at him though.
The Astro Tobes love in continues.... I'm very happy for the both of you. I can only imagine how this discussion would have gone prior to mafia 7.....
We'd been having sensible discussions for a while prior to that mafia game. He is my son after all................
faked sickness. not tried a leg. rodgers took extraordinary step of publically stating he had to do a lot more to get a game. if you want to ignore the available evidence fine..... he's a saint.
He'd pick Long John Silver over Skrtel That's the same Skrtel who has been regularly picked by Rafa, Woy, Kenny and Rodgers with a total of nearly 300 appearances in a Red shirt (and 70 odd international appearances too) who's the only player out of our current defenders who ever justifies a place week in week out Moreno, Sakho, Baloteskey etc have never done anything to justify the plaudits JS gives them but then that's all Rodgers fault of course
i agree with tobes! (and any time he talks sense) Sahko is better than lovern on the basis or performance. moreno has been woeful enough for rodgers to drop him and have him sat on bench while markoivc played lwb.
The thing about Balotelli is lack of effort and lack of contribution. He is not very mobile. I can live with a striker not immediately scoring goals but I can't live without effort and contribution. A big deal was made when Mario signed by his agent saying "Mario knows this might be his last chance to prove himself at big club and is going to try extra hard" [not verbatim]. Not true Mario. Think back to Crouch. He didn't score many goals his first 16 appearances either. Rival fans mocked him but Liverpool fans didn't. He worked hard. He contributed. He was valuable on the field setting others up... You could see the goals would eventually come... And they did. Or think back to N'Gog. Much like Balotelli, he found himself unexpectedly the teams top-billed striker due to lack of transfer activity and injury to the then top striker. He cost less than a tenth of Mario and put in ten times the effort... And scored a few goals in the process... Yeah, he wasn't good enough but unlike Mario he put the effort in. I'd trade Crouch or N'Gog back over Mario in a heartbeat. The other thing is. Defenders, midfielders, even wingers tend to take a season to warm up in a new league or team. It's rare that it takes forwards to do the same. 9 times out of 10, if a forward is going to work in a team he will be good his first season. I don't believe in giving strikers as much time to adapt as I do defenders. History has shown they don't usually need it. How often do you see a Crap forward turn good after a season or two? It does happen (Drogba) but it is rare. I can't think of a modern forward for Liverpool who was bad his first season that became good. Defenders and midfielders it happens all the time. (Lucas, Henderson, Biscan as a few examples for us all got much better over time after a poor start)
bad on telly has sat there and done just enough... why did ac let him go when he scored quite a bit....
please log in to view this image Mario's one of those players who responds to feeling 'wanted' which is why he has a great relationship with the fans but not so good with BR. I don't think he's been given a fair chance and he definitely isn't feeling the lurve from Rodgers. Reminds me of Keane's brief stint.
you'll not that 38.7 = barely a fever... i'd be ****ing embarrassed to put that out there. i don't think he's had any relationship with the fans personally.
37.5 is classified as a fever and only need to go a degree or so over that for things to be bad. Its like your body only has to drop to about 35 for you to get hypothermia.
He stuck the thermometer in a cup of lukewarm tea. If Balotelli doesn't feel loved by Touchy-feely-super softie Rodgers then there is no manager on earth he will feel loved by.
Skrtel became a fixture under Rafa in 09/10 - how did that end up? Skrtel did well under Kenny and Roy - is that when we played with 2 banks of 4? And even then we conceded 45 goals. We did better the next season with 40 goals but that was with playing 2 banks of 4 and sacrificing the attack. He's a regular under Rodgers - where we have conceded around 50 in each season? Fair enough - you value players who are professional and play a lot of games. I value talent and ability.
As the lone striker - was everyone expecting Mario to chase down the ball for that whole area? He was completely isolated. Who else was pressing? Suarez led the press and he told Sterling exactly where and when to go. Sturridge rarely pressed. Mario had far more ground to cover but we're expecting him to run himself into the ground to appease a bunch of a a*sehole supporters who claim to be the best set of fans in the world but were very quick to get on his back (not referring to people on this board btw). Lack of contribution - agreed, the return was simply not good enough. But play long balls to Suarez or Sturridge and see how well they adapt. It wouldn't suit them - just like playing Mario as a lone striker doesn't suit him.
So if I doubted the validity of his illness, a thermoter reading on social media is really going to make me change my opinion, lol. Come off it Jimmy it was playing to the crowd, if was genuinely ill with a fever, social media would have been the last thing on his mind. The bloke's a gold plated cock mate
High fever is anything above 38.2 when you'll feel you're burning up! So how many players can you remember who debuted to their own song?
But doubt the illness in the first place? Why was it made into such a big deal? Therein lies the problem - everything he does will be scrutinised.
