Just saw this posted on 'Vital Norwich', made me smile Next stage. Brady signs for an undisclosed fee. Hull say its £ 7 million and Norwich say its nowhere near that. Brady says once he had spoken to AN and listened to his vision of the future he knew straight away he wanted to sign. He then praises the training facilities and supporters, probably mentioning how great CR was to play at when he played there for Hull. Cue photo of him holding crap new shirt. DRAYTON GREEN
Its sounding like Van Dijk maybe a bit out of our price range now, with the size of the clubs supposedly showing interest for £10m. So, what about trying to sign a CB from one of the relegated clubs? Curtis Davies? Steven Caulker? Both good ages with good experience.
I have to admit that Van Dijk is out of our price range but when we signed Seb he was our record signing at the time. CB is certainly our weakest position. I would worry too much about spending £10m on Van Dijk as I think he'd be worth it. We'd easily be able to recoup it and he would improve our team by that amount of money. I think we'd struggle to significantly improve the team with two £5m signings one £10m would however.
Difficult to judge as to whether Van Dijk is worth £10M though. Most of the sides he's playing against are with all due respect, pretty much English League One level.
Looks like another day without news then, Brady surely can't be far off though now. From the Alex Neil soundbites it seems like other deals are progressing. I'd love to see the club announce someone the media haven't caught wind of at the same time as Brady.
I would spend 10 Million on Van Dijk. We are very weak at the back, he is an amazing defender who can play the ball out from the back. Champions League, and bigger clubs always linked with him. We should just go for it. Like Southampton did to amazing effect. I'd rather spend 10 Million on Van Dijk, than the 8.75m we payed for one goal from Ricky.
I have to agree - it's the area where I feel we are weakest and so should spend the most money trying to correct it!!!! I know others will disagree!!!!
I'd rather get Van Dijk than Brady. Just hope Hooper back to Celtic and regular football might help in our favour.
I think our biggest spend needs to be a Centre Back. I've said it for about 4 seasons. Surely we finally need to address this! Can't keep buying clumsy slow players like Turner, and using Martin out of position to fill the gap. We need to sort it out this season! These teams are spending so much on class attackers. We can't keep picking the budget option is we want to stay up.
