If that's accurate reporting it sounds like he's been cut adrift. Regardless of what he's done I'm not sure it's the right way to treat a £7m asset.

Agreed I'd hve had him in doing all the cleaning, fixing whatever's broken, any decorating that needs doing, making tea etc.

He wasn't a £7m asset before, he certainly isn't one now.
Waste of money on a waster...
Yes, he's never been worth what we paid for him but, in the words of Randy Newman (almost), 'he may be a **** but he's our ****', at least for the time being. I'd think it makes sense to try and help him back into shape to either play for us again or to be sold, notwithstanding the FA decision...

It seems we haven't even spoken to him since he was suspended, I don't think he's figuring in our plans at all.

Could turn out to be a case of cutting off nose to spite face.

I don't really think so, he's got a very lucrative contract with us and the only way for us to stop paying him is to terminate that contract. If, as expected, he gets a two year ban, that would take him to the end of the contract anyway.

It's almost comical how some of you are confusing allowing him space to sort his own **** out with cutting him off completely.

Almost.
