Ranieiri's CV isn't trophy laden, admittedly, but I can guarantee he has been more successful than Pearson ever will be in managerial terms.

Ranieiri is exactly the kind of manager leicester should be aiming for, experienced both in the PL and in European competitions, has managed some big names, and has a very respectable win percentage.
Again, not to sound like a dick, but a club like Leicester? He is more than qualified to take this job on and I think he will do well.
Not sure why everyone is so sceptical. And judging him on 1 game with Greece <doh>

Maybe you should wait and see how he gets on before getting too flappy?

    Just a thought.

This is the most negativity I have ever seen from us in my years on this site and the original 606 - more then when we got relegated to League 1 in fact.

    KEEP THE MOTHAFUKKIN FAITH!!!

If Carlsberg did rumours .................... then

    1) Cambiasso signs a new 1 year deal
    2) Kante discusses terms later this week
    3) New bid for Austin next week.

... some reports hinting that Kante is now viewing us as more viable since Ranieri's appointment ... although unclear if that is becasue it is Ranieri or just that we now have a manager in place ...

    It's definitely not.

Nobody thinks we're going to suddenly turn into a bad side, just that we have concerns over the intentions of an appointment like Ranieri.

I personally want what's best for the club but this seems to be whats's best for King Power. Which worries me.

We last finished 5th without KP, having beaten Blackpool twice that season we were due to play them at Wembley before an idiotic Frenchman's misjudgement. It's not like they picked us up from our arse and turned us into something completely different. Technically, the improvement is only 9 league places (I know its much more than that).

Of course we've improved since, ten fold in fact...but i'd rather someone in charge who wants what is best for Leicester City and it's fans rather than the supporters from another side of the Earth who will just support someone else when they get bored...

I have to say though. Until now, only the Sven era has made me think this of them...

It's not that i've written him off before he's managed a few games...more than i'm willing to wait a few games before he wins me over.

Whats best for King Power is whats best for Leicester, the higher we finish, the more recognition we get (though you wouldn't tell that from the bloody Sky chosen games up till Christmas <doh> ... seriously Sky? only 1 match!).

Im sure the main goal this year will be to "comfortably" avoid relegation and they have chosen a man they believe can do that, which would make fans happy (or at least not un-happy) and also increasing the King Power brand. The more money King Power makes, the more that can be spent on the club imho.

I still think that they are planning a ground expansion, they aren't doing that for their own pockets, its so that more fans can buy tickets (i know it will eventually increase their revenue, but will also allow us to buy better players without risking overspending on FFP).

Mike Ashley these owners aren't, they will dig into their own pockets to bring Leicester sustainable success.

Probably not first choice, nor the most inspirational appointment but on reflection think Ranieri is a good option. Hope we can keep back room staff and persuade Cambiasso to sign on again. Would settle for a more consistent season comprising of finishing between 13th and 10th and with a good run at the two cup competitions.

So we should give Ranieri a chance based on his CV but shouldn't compare him to Sven he had a similar CV? I'm afraid the comparisons to Sven are natural - two aging managers who's best achievements are long behind them, despite which they continually feel into top positions, usually short term. Does it mean Ranieri will only be as successful as Sven? No. But it doesn't bode well.

Wenger, Mancini etc were not managers at lower Prem clubs. Clubs at the top can and do flourish based on knowledge of the best players in or around Europe. We won't attract players like that, so it's a very different situation. And, again, he hasn't been to a club of our status in 23 years, so it's difficult to reconcile his achievements at Europe's top clubs, which invariably do well whomever managers them, to the challenges he'll meet here.

Nigel proved he wasn't a journeyman by coming back to us. He had a long term project which was cut short. Hell, if it wasn't for our trigger-happy owners, he'd very likely have been with us 2010-16 at least. I'd also say, in terms of his achievements, that he did as well for us as possible. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a) in denial about the size and expectations of our club or b) in denial about football has changed in the Premier League era.

He really hasn't. He's just not getting a ringing endorsement. Even from you.

As ive said. Im not happy the Ranieri's appointment and i dont think he will be here long term or achieve the success the owners think he will

But I will give him a chance. He's better then some of our recent managers like Allen, Megson, Holloway, Sousa

But i think like Sven was. He will be an expensive mistake

Because we have progressed EVERY season under Pearson. Nobody on here thinks Ranieiri will take us down that I know of.

We finished 14th six points above the relegation zone, so we didn't survive by "a whisker". We were safe before final day. Just because some of our supporters lost their nerve and ignored the fact we played some damn good stuff and that our fixtures were more imbalanced than other club's doesn't mean we were lucky and didn't deserve it.

AGAIN, no-one is condemning him!!! And whichever side of the argument people come down on, they try to back it with facts. It would be dumb not to. Not sure what "lie" you're talking about, but the "truth" will come on the football pitch. I and every fan sincerely hope he does well because that means Leicester do well. But unlike the Pearson haters, I will gladly forget my reservations should this be the case.

Just for the record i don't think anyone here is actually a Pearson hater. I dont think anyone was calling for him to be sacked in March.

You're wrong, they were. And, as I remember it, someone who I've quoted in this thread did exactly that (and no, it's not FF!).

I do realise I'm being over-dramatic using the word "haters". In the same way some posters are being ridiculous talking about Saint Pearson etc.

... in the same way? ... have a word with yourself ... you may be being over dramatically inaccurate... I'm merely being ironic. ...
