Regardless of what we think of him, he will be a great player. He's only 20 years old and as he develops his game will get better. It is sad that it won't be at our club. Although he had to go based on the way he went about a transfer. I would have loved to have known how things were between him and the manager over the last 6 months. In one of the clips he runs to Brendan and hugs him, so there was obviously respect their at some point. I wonder what made it all so sour?

In your opinion he'll be a great player, sound mate but better prospects than him have ended up on the scrapheap by the shedload.
He was disruptive and disrespectful and we are better rid of him and creaming City out of a reported £49m for him was a touch of genius by FSG, whether he reaches the potential he has is in his own hands but if City are weak on discipline like we were with the little runt he won't be there long.

If we get the Raheem from the season before when he lit up the PL alongside Suarez, then it will probably be £49m well spent
If we get any of the last few months of the spoilt disrespectful little bastard that he's been then it will be something else entirely,so for me the jury is out
He's an almost certain starter, however, with him & silva playing alongside Aguero in a front 3 as Nasri has too many off games to be an automatic pick in front of him and Navas being frankly awful.

When we visit Anfield I hope Raheem learns from the contrasting receptions he and Milner will receive from the fans of their former clubs,it will be stark

I think £49m could prove to be a bargain for City. He's got a pretty excellent record for a 20 year old winger and he could've (or should've) got a lot more goals than he did, last season.

But at this point in time its a fantastic deal for us because he was going to leave anyway and the fact they've paid miles over the odds for his current ability means we have the chance to replace him with a player who is further on in their development and will make a greater impact on our current team.

Ibe, Markovic, Firmino already have the potential to replace him, certainly his performances last season

I should have been clearer.

I just think that we will see him back to the form of the season we finished second, it's no coincidence that he went downhill when all the talk of moving came about. I can't guarantee he will be great, but I expect him to have a good impact at city. £49,000,0000 is good return I think everyones a winnerthey get a young player who has his best year ahead of him if managed right and we get a good amount of money for someone we paid £600,000 for which we can reinvest.

The problem is the moment he hits a patch of bad form. Pellegrini won't give a **** to coach or manage him and the owners won't give a **** about replacing him. At that point his club and country careers die.

Yes but if the limit of our ambitions is to replace the performances of a 19 year old who probably didn't even play at his best, and was still our most productive attacking payer, we won't be going anywhere fast.

I think that's a fair assessment. No question 49mil is over priced but that's English players inflation etc.

You hit the nail on the head from both sets of fans in my opinion "the jury is still out".

I mean Sterling is not someone we need to actually replace, like for like. The money should improve the team.

I hope people don't confuse Benteke arriving with him being bought with "the Sterling money". Benteke is not the only forward we will buy.

I think he'll phone in sick that day <whistle> .... he certainly isn't a player who thrives on dissent like Suarez [for instance] did so if he does turn up he won't be able to cope with the crowd.

Oh no, definitely not. I think when you try to replace players like for like it often ends in tears anyway.

What I can say is the individual used a blocker.

I dunno who it was and didn't care as their work was so sloppy and obvious.

It should be noted also that on other boards you can just sneeze and get banned. There is no threshold bar a request goes in. I've been trained to tolerate a lot more than I would do if I were a spurs fan for instance.

Should block posters using a blocker.

You will improve your team by buying Benteke with the Sterling money <ok>

You bought Firmino in anticipation of his departure.

You were always going to buy a striker i.e. Benteke, but I don't think you'd have bought the pair of them had Sterling not been going.

I don't see him improving us at all. I read a stat that he scored 60%+ of his goals from crosses, and we made the least crosses per game & 3rd least long balls per game out of all the teams in the PL last season.

He might be a really good player, but he really isn't suited to our style of play, and I don't understand our insistence on signing big target men.

Yes we would.

The Sterling money is going on the forward after Benteke.

He may well have topped that list for open goals. But for a player so poor last season, his teammates kept giving him the ball and his manager kept telling him what to do.

7 goals and 7 assists is still better than Nasri and Navas return for the season, playing every game.....was Sterling that bad?

Not sure anyone is claiming he is ****. I think most are saying he's been vastly over hyped by the media and he is in no way shape or form worth £49m.
