Now watch the decline of this greedy little so and so who within the next year will complain that he's not satisfied at Man City. The game is littered with the carcasses of the players who thought they were better than the rest only to find out that the opinion was only in their own minds.

It's about time someone set up a special league for the complainers and never satisfied bunch and the first to join IMO would be Balotelli and Sterling.

Was gerrard a key player? Everyone wanted him dropped last year, from a experience in the dressing room, possibly but from playing perspective? I don't think we've lost anything from him moving as sad as it is to say that.

Clyne could be average, but still be an improvement on Johnson

But Gerrard was done, and Raheem clearly wanted to go. I think we have bought well so far this summer, definitely improving the overall quality

Regardless of his decline in impact, he was still very much our captain and talisman, and more in the grand scheme much harder to replace.

So was Manquillo, even without the English hype. I do however realise it can go the other way and they turn out to be belters (odds being against us due to transfer record under Rodgers).

The only thing I'm glad to be rid off is the bad feeling and his agent.. Coutinho next season, however.

Yeah but we think that every Summer, till we get 1-2 months in to the season and realise we've replaced dead wood with more dead wood.

Yes he was the captain and like I said, his experince in the dressing room will be missed, but on the pitch we were better off without him and who's to say hendo won't step up like he did when Gerrard was out.

Coutinho just signed new new long term deal, seems like he has his head screwed on and just convinced firmmy to join

Liverpool have hit the jackpot with that deal.

As for Gerrard comments, he wanted to play but isn't good enough anymore so he had to go. It's that simple

I just think with Gerrard he was far more than just a player, but I do to some extent agree his influence on pitch wasn't as it was - though still underestimated. Hendo is Mr. consistent, but not captain fantastic.

We will have to wait and see mate, I did tend to think the same about Sterling, just a lad who loved his football and just wanted to play.. Once the offer comes in, or he gets whispers in his ears we'll see how committed he is.

Not every signing is going to be a success, but I'm pleased thus far with business in and out.

I wonder how we will view things 2 months into the season? <confused> Can't wait :emoticon-0110-tongu

BAWEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! **** me, you trying to troll or something? Gerrard was gawd awful last season, I only stopped slagging him once he said he was going, as we could then give him the respect a legend deserves. As Paisley said, "Let them loose their legs on someone else's pitch" We should have ditched Gerrard 18 months ago. As for Sterling, apart from pace what does he have? He can't get past people. As an ex-gooner said about Walcott, he is an athlete in football boots. He has no game, no real creativity. Since Citeh are that desperate for English players, we had them over the barrel, and this makes me as happy as getting the same money from the chavs for Torres. We've mugged someone again. We'll be on Crimewatch if we keep this up.

Will he come good??? don't know, but judging by his ****ing arrogance, I doubt he'll think anyone can teach him anything. The little **** is obviously full of himself. and thank god he is citeh's nightmare now. I'm thinking Jermaine Pennant #2.

Some deadwood needs time to settle in. Think back to Lucas... I think Lazer will be the same, I think he will come good, But Joe Allen will always be ****e, with a capital turd.

That's what happens when a 34 year old carries the weight of a team on his shoulders. He was bad, but AGAIN, it's not just the footballer we need to replace. Bollocks to the second bit too, He was class for 18 months and tailed off when the contract talks started, if he gets his head screwed on it'll be a great bit of business for City. He's not all about the pace, he has a **** ton of potential.

Really not trying to be negative, just trying to put the spin on things that we are losing an obviously good player, for a good price, but we need to ultimately spend the money on the same sort of quality.

Grtting rid of Gerrard last January would have been mantel, we was a key player and huge influence in the season last year. Don't think anyone thought his levels would decrease quite as much as it did this year though. If we'd have got rid before this season, after yesr he just had it would have been crazy. In hindsight it's easy to say should have got rid in summer but that wouldn't have been the logical move

Define "class" magic? Because I think a lot of people confuse "exciting" with "class" when it comes to Sterling. I don't think you can find enough bits of "class" to fill a one minute youTube video. and for every clip of him doing something "class" I can find two of him being dispossessed like a little girl.

Sorry mate, but in them last 6 months of the 13/14 season Sterling was our key player. His movement and passing alongside SAS was unplayable, and for the first few months of last season he was our best player, until the contract talks started and his head and heart were no longer with us. By no means is he the finished product though, which is the frightening thing. His finishing obviously let's him down.

RE IBWT, Gerrard was still our top scorer last season, second Sterling. Which sums it all up to me.

Pens... Ballo or Lambert would have scored as many pens as Gerrard

Don't see it mate. Everyone seemed desperate to applaud how great a success he was in his new position, but I just kept seeing him give the ball away far too much. He and Carra should have gone at the same time. Yes he's a massive player for the club, but you have to look at it dispassionately and say, the legs have gone, time to ship him out, not rob a good player of his place. We'd have done far better with Lucas, and not Gerrard in the team.

And look where we finished. Quite how you can say either of them were as good as Coutinho amazes me. Take Gerrard's pens away, and then look at it.
