Genuine question...any of you cricket buffs of a certain age ever play this? Thought it was a good game, but preferred the football version.<cheers>

I used to have this game, really liked it, but yeah footy version better. A better board game for cricket was the Gillette cup game

don't know the Gillette cup one, Subby football is/was best football game around by a mile. great game!

So, England all out 411 ahead. I just have a horrible feeling that the Aussies will go and get these. Loads of time left!!
Come on Col, you can't be pessimistic with that lead. Your team are going great and unless our Aussies can put together a record winning score, you guys would have to be specials to win. All said and done, it's up to our boys to make a go of it. Hope it's entertaining!

A pitch with a bit of uneven bounce should be decisive in England's favour. If Cook has balls (after taking one in them) he should set some attacking fields and really go for it. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Aussies run us close though if their big guns can get a start...

I'll won't be happy until the last wicket falls, it's a bit like being 2-0 in the 89th minutes and still praying for that whistle

Did you know that subbuteo was named after a bird of prey?
Anyone care to solve the riddle?
hobby, buzzard etc etc Old pub quiz question, inventor was not allowed to use his chosen name "The Hobby" so went for Latin name of the bird Hobby.

Warner still living a charmed life.
Signs of him starting to find the middle of the bat!
Australia are going to win this!

Cloudy conditions forecast later this afternoon, if Anderson starts swinging it we should be able to pull it round. They were rattling along in the first innings but folded...

Anderson should be further warned from running on the pitch. Totally illegal, otherwise, England bowling well. Aussies hanging on, so far.

Spot on! Falco Subbuteo Subbuteo. The inventor was an ornithologist, born in Brighton in 1916 and was a QPR fan! ;)

Smith and Clarke both gone and Australia are 106-4. England look to be cruising.

I'm glad I never listened to that idiot who was on here saying back Australia. 'It's like buying money'' he said
