We should spend the ince money on trying to entice jelly to stay for a season! He's played in the scot prem before so he knows all about the lower leagues!
Prepare to be very disapointed then. We dont need anymore defenders(ie.Tom Lees). First job has to be to try and shift UnAbel Hernandez even on a season long loan somewhere. Glad that it is quiet atm. Enjoying the summer sports going on atm. Football starts for me on friday 17th july @ NFU.
The problem with shifting him is the amount we paid for him. I'm sure a whole host of MLS clubs would take him but we would have to take a massive loss unless it was some sort of player swap deal.
I think we'll have to accept a massive loss on Hernandez no matter who buys him, nobody in their right mind would pay £10m for him now. Don't know if it's just me, but I really couldn't care less that we haven't signed anybody yet. Usually I'm quite impatient, checking transfer rumours and the like, but this year for some reason I just couldn't give two ****s.
Same here. We are not going to make any high profile signings as we won't have the money. I'm hopeful we might get a couple of Premier League up and coming stars on loan, but other than that, I'd be much happier just keeping hold of as many of the current players we have.
Yeah, keeping the ones we have is more important than any multi million pound buy. It's nice to look back retrospectively and say "oh that kid from Chelsea we got was amazing", but at the time, who really cares? Also, why has transfer deadline day become such a big deal? "Come to bed dear" "NO! I must find out who's having a medical at Leyton Orient!" It makes no sense. You could go to bed, wake up and find out about all the transfers the next day in one sitting, yet we (and the media) make such a huge deal out of players we've never heard of signing for other clubs that we don't support. A strange social evolution.
I just don't understand why we spent 10mill on a foreign striker who just happened to be the 4th choice for his national team. There are litterily dozens of strikers who we could have signed for less, with better resell values who could have performed as poorly.
Aren't you one of the regular posters who advocated keeping Steve Bruce and giving him the summer transfer pot, I might be wrong and apologies if so, but I seem to recall you were? Whatever, it's a worry, isn't it? But still, once we get beyond the buy and sell stage, we will be able to be concerned about how he will play his new acquisitions; last season was a bundle of laughs and surprises, wasn't it.
Although he's fourth choice have you seen who's in front of him, it's not like he's fourth choice for San marino. The fact he's in with Suarez, cavani means someone rates him
He doesn't make too many £10M decisions, thankfully he won't be able to make too many in this window, but he has already made at least two cheaper daft ones and been implicated in another two. Do you have a threshold?
Its true he has history on poor signings, i am hoping Phelan has a bit of a hand in any coming through the door this year...........
Our milkman could probably make 4th choice striker for Uruguay. He couldn't be any less effective than Hernandez.
Ok so let's say ernie the the fastest milkman in the west makes 4th choice, Hernandez must be 3rd choice so behind Suarez and cavanni and a record of 9 goals in 22 that's not shoddy is it?
Who has he played against? I don't actually really care for his international record, his goal scoring record and his effort for us, his employers has been a disgrace.
