I agree that abuse should be avoided, but seriously, this board is one of the single worst for being fiery with outsiders. I offered a simple perspective once and had an absolute tirade of **** from all the regulars on here saying I was a WUM because I had the temerity to suggest there were links between the way my club and yours was run... Because WUMMING the Southampton board would be a worthwhile exercise for a Newcastle fan (right colour stripes, I'll grant you, and you may start with an S, but don't flatter yourselves)
It's a multi-board forum, it's not a single board forum. If you want to get your insular-introvert-jollies-off, pop onto Southampton.net or whatever. This is a board for all, not just those who support the saints, and while you will obviously have the most interest in it and post the most on it, everyone should be welcome. There's going to be people roving about offering opinions on things that tickle their muse, especially when their own club is unable to sign a player to save their life. Of all the boards, Southampton's is one of the single most hostile to the newcomer post (ironically, the Spurs board is in top spot in that regard, good luck with that bunch of tossers Toby!).
On the actual topic I came to post about, I'm disappointed Toby went for Spurs, and with his subsequent comments. Spurs and Southampton are in the same bracket as far as I'm concerned in the league top-doggery, and a real improvement would have been one of the top 4 (god knows he hasn't spent long enough at the Saints for Liverpool to come running like a dribbling-infatuated-school-kid). Koeman's shown a shrewd eye so far, and as much as I worried for the future of Saints after the old fella left and was replaced by someone who seemingly couldn't give two ****s, the ship seems in much safer hands than our own sinking vessel.
