I'm suggesting that you defend as a team and that if someone in the side isn't working had enough without the ball you will conceed more goals. Are you of the opinion that attacking players don't have to work hard so long as they score. I love your use of Paul Clements quotes as proof that he's a great player. Of course he's going to say good things about his new signing. I suppose he was poorly managed at palace too? Brady has been played in many positions and done well. Has he been poorly managed? How was he not used as he should have been? We played him wide and upfront, where should he have played? Great championship players should be able to perform at a reasonable standard in the prem. Brady did, Quinn did, Aluko did, I agree they didn't play well every game but they at least had some good games for us. Ince did not. He has a reputation of being a talented player. He showed us none of it. For that reason I don't care he has been sold. If he does well at Derby he will cause unrest and engineer a move to a bigger club, if he doesn't it will be someone else's fault because he could play for inter Milan you know! I'm glad you brought up Ben Arfa because that's exactly how I see him. A lazy waste of space only caring for himself.
Why all the discord?
He didn't fit in at City, he fits in at Derby..
he wants to play every game which is expected at his stage in his career and he wouldn't be doing that under a 5-3-2 as has been stated
Your suggestion has some merit, but I would suggest that 11 from 18 would more than appease most managers needs.
Don't start talking general bullshit, we're talking about Tom Ince; if you don't think he could have been good for us then fine, I disagree.
I have always been of the opinion that if an attacking player can knock me in a shed-full of goals I would crack the whip on those whose don't. We have needed goals for so long my eyes bleed, but **** it, let's just have another halfy-halfy player.
I never posted Clements comments as proof of anything other than an endorsement, a qualified opinion, but if you fail to understand that the so-be-it.
Brady went through a bad patch; how long have you been following the team?
I've been going for 21 years, 14 as a pass holder. What's that got to do with anything? Let's just agree to disagree, you rate Ince and I don't. It will be interesting to see who is right in the long run.
One of my major gripes is just that, we shouldn't be playing 3-5-2, we were perfectly built to play 4-2-3-1 next season if we'd kept Ince, Rosey & Quinn.
McG
Rosey Chester Dawson Brady
Meyler Quinn
Snodgrass Diame/Aluko Ince
New Striker
Instead we'll play something akin to:
McG
Elmo Chester Bruce Dawson Brady
New CM Meyler New CM
New Striker Aluko
Even if Chester goes this is one hell of a Championship team:
McGregor
Elmo Dawson Davies Robertson
Meyler Huddlestone
Snodgrass Diame Brady
Aluko

I think we will play 4 at the back to protect Dawson so I completely disagree, he is too slow and injury prone for 3 at the back but in a 4 he would be protected more and we can use his fantastic distribution from the back, Maguire would be the perfect stand in for his inevitable injuries. All this stuff about 3-5-2 isn't going to come to fruition also Ince is no sad loss as he's never done it for us, we won't miss whatever he brings to his next team, if he wanted to stay he could have, just a mercenary ****head lead by his fatherDavies and Diame will go, as will one of Robertson & Brady, and possibly (and hopefully) Huddlestone too.
Elmo at right-back after we released a far better right-back in Rosenior would be madness, I thoroughly expect the same old 3-5-2, lumping hopeful balls into the box all game.

Bruce didn't want to sell him (Ince) from what I gather today about not knowing about the sell on clause, if we keep Elmo and Brady then we aren't doing too badly at the back for wing-backs as well as Townsend/Lenihan coming into contention, Chester (if kept) is versatile too, even Meyler played right-back v Germany for Eire so although I didn't like seeing Rosy go I don't think we will miss him as much as you thinkIf we're going to play a 4 then the release of Rosenior and the sale of Ince go from being silly to being absolute ****ing disasters.
Rosenior is in a different class to Elmo as a right-back, and Ince is quite possibly the best winger in the Championship.
The argument that selling Ince is all good because he's never been an important player for us is illogical. He struggled when he was completely miss-used, played out of position with balls lumped forward to him in the Premier League. Does that mean that he wouldn't excel if he was properly used, played in the right position, in a division which he has torn apart on countless occasions? Of course it doesn't, he's a huge loss if we're going to play with wingers.

I'm not blaming Bruce for Ince's departure.
Elmo and Meyler can play right-back, but nowhere near as effectively as Rosenior. And Chester, if kept, is our best centre-back, personally, I'd rather he was played there.
