We didn't baulk, they rejected £12m and told us they were interested in an increased bid, as he wasn't for sale(though they seem happy to take £12m now).
We offered £12m, they said he wasn't for sale even if we increased our offer. This year, they will sell him apparently for £15m, not £12m. Thought they'd just rejected a £12m bid actually, but not sure if I made that up in my head.
I remember them rejecting a couple of offers but did we go back with a 3rd or 4th offer? ..probably not. Instead we flushed £10m down the drain on Hernandez!
We had £12m rejected and having been told an increased offer would also be rejected, we moved on to Hernandez.
If we had played him in the right way (Bruce seemed to be contemplating it , I know, that sounds daft , but seriously, he did ) we would probably have got much more, one way or another.
You mean like N'Doye, Jelavic and, hmmm, who else? Why is all this **** focussed on Ince? Not everyone is as loyal as Scarb.
We could have got more based on his performances whilst on loan at Derby. That's exactly what the robbing bastards at Spurs did with us and Livermore. Wish we had dodged that bullet.
I don't see how a manager of Bruce's stature could consider leaving crucial contract t&cs to a numpty like Ehab. It seems clear he did, so it also seems, to me, that he is taking the piss. Steve Bruce is using us for his own ends, but relegation was disastrous for him, he really never saw it coming - but many of us did (even though we tried to be upbeat), why the **** is he still here?
I have a better authority that he will be but Brady will go. Huddlestone wants to go too but no one wants him.
For me, the hype around Robertson and the big money is because of his attacking ability. Defensively, he is not as good as Brady and seems almost a liability at times. I don't know why Bruce hasn't yet played him in a more advanced position.
He did against someone, I forget now, brought him on as a LM. Think it was relatively early in the season though. Someone might have a better memory than me?
