in the end lads we still could do with many things but i'm 110% sure we need a top striker. has to be priority over anything else
hard cheese! Sound like sour grapes and trying to hard to justify why Utd didn't get a player linked for 12 months
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...niel-clyne-i-want-to-play-in-champions-league So you reckon that he in fact turned down the CL to join EL Liverpool. Get a grip.
Not at what Saints were willing to pay him anyway. I imagine Clyne and his agent had a conversation something like this. Agent : We've bottled it Nathaniel. I thought you were good enough but no CL team wants you Clyne: Oh dear,I now look a right mug Agent: Don't worry I have just got a call from Liverpool, you know what that means nate, we can name our price ! Clyne : I don't know, they were dirt last season and I don't know if I would want to be a part of what happened at the Brittania on the final day. I am a professional.at the end of the day Agent: Bear in mind Nate this crowd of mugs paid a combined 55 million for Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing and did you see what they spent 150 million on last summer ? Clyne: Get the Yacht brochure
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...nited-and-Chelsea-target-Nathaniel-Clyne.html No CL team wanted him .... and the window's about to close .... erm .... doesn't want to get stuck at Southampton ..... oh wait ... the window hadn't even opened Not bothered either way by the signing but talk sense instead of making stuff up.
Obviously not. He made it clear that he wanted to play in the CL. The fact no CL team led him to choose liverpool for reasons stated in post 212.
Doesn't add up though does it? The window hadn't even opened for more CL teams to start showing interest. Why rush a move when there's months still to go http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/450784/Louis-van-Gaal-Nathaniel-Clyne-transfer-news
Teams don't just make their interest in players known when the transfer window is open, contract discussions and fees are discussed with players and clubs respectively if the window is open or shut. For the record I don't agree with it as I think it nearly 100% of the time adversely affects the players form. Clyne has gone on record and made it very clear that he wants CL football at a level above Saints which I understand..What I don't understand is how anyone could honestly think he snubbed the CL interest he clearly craved to join Liverpool, a club he has no affinity with and finished one place above Saints and have the same Euro footy next season.
I don't know who Clyne rejected, if anybody. I don't believe all the gossip but there's been plenty of links that LVG has been interested in him for there not to be an element of truth in it. I'm not fussed either way whether we signed him or not
