I like Can and he has some excellent qualities, I worry though that he isn't quick enough on the turn to play midfield and whilst he was good for a period of time at CB, it isn't a position he is completely comfortable with. At this moment in time I don't know where his best position is.
Out of all the youngsters we have signed in the last 3 years, he is the one I am most excited about. I have a very bad feeling though that he will get shipped out, and then it bites us on the arse.
Happy enough with the Clyne signing but will be more excited if we get Illaramendi he's my most wanted this Summer.
Sorry but I have Asperger's and my main focus on life (sorry if it comes across very sad, I'm pretty normal but get obsessed easily with behaviours) is football. Without question the best RB in the league is Clyne. It absolutely disgusts me that people say he can't defend?????????????????? that is his best attribute by a mile. I have 84 video's on my HDD that show's his defensive ability's. The fact people go on about his forward play is purely due to two very good midfielders that allow that space. If you can't see that Clyne's best ability is defending then you need to watch matches in slow motion (unfortunately I do, and I also re watch in 2x 3x and 4x, probably due to my condition). He is an incredible defender that sticks to his man like no other RB currently in the PL. It seems like RB's these days are judges extremely harshly.
Clyne is decent defensively - not great. He's certainly the best English fullback, but Ivanovic, Azpi, Zaba are all better. He also has the benefit of operating behind a quality midfield. He won;'t get the same protection at Liverpool.
Lol being positive was too exhausting! I like Clyne, I think he's a really good player. But we fans love to over-exaggerate a players ability. Clyne is not the best defensively but he's not the worst - I do have my concerns because he was well protected at Soton and he won't get the same level here.
He's young for a full back and can still look to improve - especially with the world-leading defensive coaching he'll receive at Melwood
I've had an idea - let's buy Wanyama and Shchneiderlin! I agree with not over hyping our own players but let's not make the same mistake and over hype other teams players. It's not like we've finished behind Southampton the last few years is it?
