Statistically, Nigel is also the onlly manager in our history to have a free hit at League One with a Championship budget... O'Neill is the most successful because he...you know... won stuff.
League 1 isn't as easy as people like to think As Leeds, Forest, Southampton, Charlton, Sheffield United, Preston or Coventry fans All them clubs failed to bounce back straight away. Yes we should have got promoted and we did it with ease but Nigel still deserves credit for it
Pearson was shocked, we was shocked, the media was shocked and judging by Jeff Schlupp's comments the day before when he signed a new contract the players will have been shocked. Kasper was only saying the other week that Pearson is the best manager he has played for, he is very highly respected and loved by the players
The shock to most I think is in the timing. Obviously things were unfolding that no one knew about. The owners have a Brand, King Power, and as part of the marketing policy for this decided to buy an English premier league club - Leicester City. All employees, especially the senior management have to represent the brand accordingly. Pearson didn't.
.. if they want to keep them they'll just be offered more money ... and will probably stay... little loyalty in football these days I'm afraid...
According to the Mirror Neil Lennon wants the job, they also say Dean Hammond is set to sign a new 1 year deal
Lennon would be ok for me. He´s got LC history & he´s passionate. We just need to keep hold of our scouting staff & turn ourselves into a top 10 side. Not sure what went on with NP but I can´t help thinking he could of took us alot further.
Maybe in some computer game but not here on planet Reality. Pearson's strengths probably lie more in assistant manager rather than actual manager. You could even argue that Peter Taylor (and I have to cringe when saying this) was more successful than Pearson because didn't he actually get us to the top of the Prem for one glorious week?
Actually, on win rate alone, Peter Taylor is probably our most successful manager. Though comparing win rates in the lower leagues, with win rates in the top flight, is obviously a complete nonsense.
I think it was 2 weeks due to an international break; But there was still fans moaning when we were top. Some fans are unbelievable!!!!!
