Arturo Vidal has reportedly signed a five-year contract with Arsenal ahead of a blockbuster summer transfer. With Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin understood to be close to a move to Manchester United, Arsene Wenger has trained his sights on the 28-year-old Chilean. And DirecTV journalist Hernan Feler – who was one of the first to reveal Arsenal’s interest in Alexis Sanchez – appears to have claimed that the Gunners have reached an agreement to sign the Juventus star on a five-year deal. Reports emerged on social media that Feler had revealed the deal on Chilean radio, with him then appearing to validate those claims by re-tweeting one of them. The ‘evidence’… (Picture: Twitter) Read more: http://metro.co.uk/2015/06/27/artur...ournalist-hernan-feler-5269492/#ixzz3eJqCzNVT
The biggest issue with signing Vidal is I think Chile are gonna win he Copa America. Surely that will make the signing even harder to complete. (unless fee etc is already agreed) He would however be a massive signing.
Vidal playing in the Copa American wouldn't be a problem. All the negotiations, medical etc could take place in Chile.Don't forget we signed both Özil & Alexis without either having to come to Lomdon
I'm not saying him playing in the tournament will be a problem. Just that if Chile win (and I have a feeling they will) his profile will be higher than ever. Juventus will have more momentum to try and get bigger transfer fee and other clubs will no doubt start to show an interest.
IF this is true, and again I'm not really convinced until there's more than 1 source, then where are we going to fit all these great players? What's going to happen to santi, Ramsey and wilshere if Vidal is demanding a starting spot in cm? Unless hell play a deeper role, spreading passes and breaking up play in front of the back 4. But then we'd lose the stability coq brings, as if imagine Vidal would still want to get forward. It's a great problem to have and he could be a great signing, but I'm not sure he's exactly what we need
I agree with you, this transfer doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It would technically improve what we have in midfield, but by how much? It would naturally displace Ramsey and there would be even more competition for CM spots. Personally we don't need to upgrade this area as we are already strong enough, just a DM cover. Getting Vidal would either mean a luxury buy or Wenger deems our current CMs not good enough. I would argue that a CF position should be looked at more than our CM area.
The Vidal story is a pile of ****e.One of the "journalists" who broke the story has admitted it on Twitter Apparently he wanted to prove how gullible people could be.We'll have to start getting over excited over some other rumour now
Wish it was true, Vidal is a top player and another fighter. If we sign Cech and Vidal with so long left in the transfer window to look at possible striker options it would be an incredible position to be in. If what CYM says is true then the Vidal signing isn't happening but if it did I'd be feeling very confident going into the season. Top it off with a Cavani or Higuain signing (or another top striker), while moving on a couple of players and it would be a perfect window in my eyes. Unlikely, but we can hope!
He achieved his mission, so many stupid ****ers out there who brought into this story. Vidal is basically an older version of Ramsey, there is no chance of him coming here, because if he does it affects both Ramsey and Wilshere, two players Wenger has spent years developing.
Marca are now saying that Juve have already sold Vidal and it will be announced after the Copa America
