    Better let SSN know then.

Pogba is the big money first team buy, don`t think he qualifies as HG.

They didn't realise people would actually notice their plan of chucking money at random in-form English players and promising they wouldn't spend their careers on the bench (with fingers crossed behind their back)

Liverpool expect Raheem Sterling back in training despite Manchester City bids

Liverpool expect Raheem Sterling to ignore Manchester City’s advances and report back for pre-season training on Monday, when Sean O’Driscoll will be confirmed as the new assistant manager at Anfield.

City have had two offers rejected for Sterling this summer, packages totalling £30m and £40m, and have yet to make a third bid for the want-away England forward. Unless they return with a deal closer to Liverpool’s £50m valuation this week, the 20-year-old will travel with Brendan Rodgers’ squad to Bangkok next Sunday for the pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia.

Sterling an his agent ****ed up.

If Liverpool continue to hold him to his contract it costs us £3.6m. It costs him £12.5m.

    In your own time son.

I don't know what his hold up is. Sure he'll miss out on his loyalty bonus but apparently he gets a cut of the agents fee anyway, so that should offset what he misses out on. Not to mention that he'll be earning more money at Citeh in wages.
So much for the 'its not about money' when its obvious that he doesn't want to miss out on his loyalty bonus, otherwise why else wouldn't he have tried to force a move away.

If he's said that he doesn't want to sign a new contract and wants a move... Isn't that in theory him saying he doesn't want to be here ergo forfeiting his loyalty bonus and in effect putting in a transfer request.

I I guess what will happen is city will be the 45m and LFC will say to him were going to accept if you put in a transfer request so it then goes in at same time or just before its accepted etc.

same thing happened with Torres, put in a transfer request just before the bid came from chelsea

saying you won't sign something is one thing.

saying publically you want to go is another. it depends on clauses etc. saying you want to go is not a written request but it should trigger something.

I wuold expect you are right. if city do bid 45mil stelring may be told to put up or shut up.

Sterling says he doesn't want to go on tour

Put a transfer request in then you ******ed ****

You are exactly the type of prick who doesn't deserve a loyalty bonus, it isn't something you are owed

There hasn't even been a third bid yet, if and when Citeh do lodge a £45-50m bid then Sterling can have his say. But there is no point in him mouthing off if nothing is happening.
Can anyone think of a way Sterling could encourage Citeh to make another bid? <whistle>

If he refuses to go on tour can the club refuse to pay him, surely its a breach of contract? :smiley-finger007:Teach the little **** some respect.

Out of curiosity, how much is the loyalty bonus? Is it the wages for the remainder of the contract?

The loyalty bonus is a joke. He clearly wants to leave so whether he formally asks for a transfer or not, it should not be given to him.

He's burnt his bridges. I cannot see how if City comes back with the original offer + 1 it could be turned down?

Do we really want a non playing player with no interest to play for LFC in our squad ?

We don't know is the short answer on loyalty bonus.

There are many varieties, form the length of contract, who initiates the transfer etc etc. how long you stay...

I'd assume 1-2 million minimum myself.

For me the question must be:

just who are city actually in for?

delph... their fans must be <doh>
    Sterling... the most obvious one
    whilshire... doubtful he will move.
Pogba. nobody knows where he is going. its a big deal many lcubs are being mentioned. You'd wonder if an agent is working overtime there and if juve will even want to sell.
De Bruyne? again hihgly expensive one that.

Bellarabi is the one to pay attention to, a 25mil winger from leverkusen. if this occurs LFc have lost thier bidder. He cuold be plan b.

    ........................
In the end city actually have to bid for someone and back up their big talk.

So glad he is off. He is showing the kind of mental weakness you dont want in your squad. Refusing to play and scared of the jeers. The polar oppisite of Suarez who always gave his all even when he wanted to move on. Plus he literally thrived off the jeers. Well I say let him move to city. Where he eill quickly find that most of the squad are not his age or english and he will quickly find himself a lonely boy. Cash in as the kids had his moment and is ****i ng it up for himself. Ibe has the much better attitude and attitude is key

    carragehr has slightly weighed in.

As red says above sterling is doing himself no favors at all and carragher alludes to this. It might be useful in next 2 weeks to get your move but once its done and dusted the reputation damage is done and I agree with Redbrynner he showed in last 3 months of the season he is a huge sulk and wont be pushed if he doesn't feel like it so I agree get him gone his attitude is not right.
