Thing is PL, if you're confident in what you are and the fact that you might be perceived as different, you can be extremely happy - moreso than those that spend their time following the given trend. I'll introduce you to Fable one day - she's odd and different, but she's so comfortable in her skin that she makes us 'normal' people feel like the ones who haven't got it. That's the holy grail!
Sounds awesome, odd and different are the best characteristics in a person! Hence why my favourite character in Harry Potter is Luna Lovegood! Being 'normal' is overrated and I'm proud of not being 'normal', whether it's playing Muggle Quidditch or cosplaying as an obscure female character, or whatever, and I guess this group of people have allowed me to embrace that.... lack of normality. Heck, I wouldn't have cosplayed as a female with another group of people. Saying that I would like to do the normal thing of settling down, getting married and having kids.... but no rush for that. Especially that last part.
