Seriously, why post about him when you patently know **** all about the lad? He made 28 appearances for us last season and it would have been higher if it hadn't been for injury
I know what you are saying. I just think even with Fabregas defensive disability (he really is poor off the ball), i think the Fab/Matic is more solid than Ramires and Mikel. I guess on the other side of the coin do you think Allen (ramires) and Gerrard (about as mobile as Mikel) was more defensive or Lucas (Matic) and any other you want to tag in there. The reason being Matic is a defensive lynchpin who you can really see sitting properly, able to stop counters, keep his position and offer energy at the right times (to be honest you only need 1 holding midfield player, especially when mourinho makes sure he gets bodies back in numbers) than having 2 average but defensive type players like Mikel and Ramires.
At least we're looking at strikers now other than Ings.....although we seem desperate not too pay top dollar for the one position you have to pay top dollar for!! Other than that, it's a total revamp of the squad with what looks like 7 or 8 new players coming in.....we haven't learnt a thing from last season
The difference is with EL we can use the squad better than when we were in the CL. You can use the EL & COC to bed in the new players which allows the team to gel faster. You can't do that when in the CL.
Stones: they are all posting to get a rise The ill but on the mend guy. When marca give a price you might as well read that as real Madrid telling you the price to bid. There could be a queue fir him on that basis.
Without Suarez to support him Sterling took Liverpool to 6th and went missing in the second half of the season.
please log in to view this image Robbie: “Rafa, I’m at your new training ground. I’m just having my medical now!” Rafa: “You don’t need a medical Robbie. You need a miracle!” Benitez of course famously brought Fowler back to Anfield after a five year absence, and the forward notched 12 goals during his second spell at the club. Clearly they’re still on terms, but we don’t think that this will help Fowler get a contract with the Spanish giants, sadly!
That's assuming that we play the same way in Europe as we do in the league. Truth is, europe (any form of it) is a much more tactical game than the domestic league...you need to be able to keep a clean sheet and nick the odd goal in two legged games occasionally.....and BR struggles with that concept. Even with Suarez, we'd have struggled in Europe. Either way, replacing 1/3 of the squad every year is not helpful.
Group stages we played with the likes of Suso Wisdom and other youngsters and managed to qualify last time around. It is in the knockout stages Rodgers has struggled in.
Look the thing I feel about europa is this A) we need to develop the club. Others use this comp from Spain to do so. The squad can improve by travelling, learning to play twice a week, learning to manage resources etc. B) we need the coefficient. I'd rather 15 points than no points as if we ever get close to cl in next 5 years there's zero point being 4th bloody seeds is there? C) it's got a cup and a cl slot for winning it!!! All in all my view is we have to say ok this season we play reserves in league cup and see what they can do while we play a europa side as well. We have bogdan, wisdom, toure, lovern, moreno, allen , ibe, markovic, ings, we are only shy of a cm or two here to have a ****ty cup team to play eh?
Liverpool have increased their offer for Real Madrid defensive midfielder Asier Illarramendi, 25, to £16m and the Spanish club could accept. (Marca) The Reds are monitoring Sevilla's Colombia striker Carlos Bacca, 28, and Venezuela forward Salomon Rondon, 25, of Zenit St Petersburg as alternatives to Aston Villa's Christian Benteke, 24. (Liverpool Echo) Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will actually buy all three players - Illarramendi, Bacca and Rondon - in deals that will total £75m. (Daily Star) If all true, £75m plus Ings minus Sterling is about £30m net spend, before other sales
We will see. So many names floating about. I have not seen many go yet which needs to start happening.
All 3 would need a year to get established. bacca would be 29 within a month of the league starting again....can't see us paying over the top for him....Very few players slot into this league without breaking stride! Rondon will be 25/26...much more believable. Personally, I'd break the bank for Lacazette (£35m). Throw in Clyne (£15) and Illarramendi (£15m) and bosh, get on with training . I'd be far happier with that £75m of spending!
I think Bacca would adapt quite quickly. He reminds me of aguero in that he's strong and stocky so can match up the physical aspect of the league
