Outs:

Borini: £7m
Lambert: £3m
Lucas: £8m
Aspas: £4m
Sterling: £50
Mario:: £10m

Possible £72m coming in (allows for £10m sell on clause for QPR) Doubt they'll all go though, we're pretty good at hanging on to sh*te <ok>

Look the thing I feel about europa is this

A) we need to develop the club. Others use this comp from Spain to do so. The squad can improve by travelling, learning to play twice a week, learning to manage resources etc.

B) we need the coefficient. I'd rather 15 points than no points as if we ever get close to cl in next 5 years there's zero point being 4th bloody seeds is there?

C) it's got a cup and a cl slot for winning it!!!

All in all my view is we have to say ok this season we play reserves in league cup and see what they can do while we play a europa side as well.

We have bogdan, wisdom, toure, lovern, moreno, allen , ibe, markovic, ings, we are only shy of a cm or two here to have a ****ty cup team to play eh?
Brannaghan and rossiter are those two cms we need for cup games. Although they will probably be loaned out

And to think we could of got shot of Borini for £14m or QPR for £12m if the idiot had grasped the fact that he wasn't going to get any game time under BR.

How the hell was he ever left with the impression that he'd actually stand a chance under him?? More of BR's man management techniques at play then <ok>

to be honest if i was borini i wouldn't have been bothered by anyone we had purchased and thought yes i can get in this team ahead of them lot.

so it's as much the ****e we have brought that's the problem as well as borini thinking he can get in the team, but having brendan in charge probably hasn't helped either.

I find it hard to moan about him really. We often don't see much loyalty and fight from players, often taking the way approach but the guy wanted to stay fight for his place and play for us. The complete opposite to sterling yet borini is getting the same sort of response.

Hes a half decent player and probably should have had more chances last year (Wouldn't have been any worse than what we did play with) so can see why he thought he'd stay and have a chance.

i think he wanted to go to italy only and would have jumped at a laon
I think if Rodgers had told him he had no future at Liverpool and wasn't going to get a sniff of first team action, he'd have ****ed off when the offers were on the table for him.

It smacks of him believing he still had a chance at Liverpool when the reality was he didn't. You can hear him talking about his 'quality' and the group can't you. <laugh>

That's certainly one possibility.

He had an agreed fee with sunderland that we know and he turned it down.

After that we don't know what he was told about playing.

We do know he was left out most of the time.

After that we don't know... but I suspect strongly he really didn't fancy sunderland and would have jumped at Italian clubs

Liverpool have increased their offer for Real Madrid defensive midfielder Asier Illarramendi, 25, to £16m and the Spanish club could accept. (Marca)

The Reds are monitoring Sevilla's Colombia striker Carlos Bacca, 28, and Venezuela forward Salomon Rondon, 25, of Zenit St Petersburg as alternatives to Aston Villa's Christian Benteke, 24. (Liverpool Echo)

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will actually buy all three players - Illarramendi, Bacca and Rondon - in deals that will total £75m. (Daily Star)

Rondon and Bacca are better than Benteke, but even then I would struggle to justify £20m for a 29 year old. Rondon is quite inconsistent also.

By all accounts, Borini was told clearly he would not get much football last season but still stayed.
There's degrees of being told though eh....

From limited opportunities....through to you're not going to get a kick here son, so we think it's best if you **** off.

Yep. Borini might have been told but he wasn't told sternly enough

It would not have actually hurt if we'd given Borini more games. Surely he suits our game more than Balotelli and Lambert.

I agree.

I really don't buy the argument that we had no strikers last season. We did - yes, they weren't at the level of SAS but quality managers will get the most out of their resources, and Rodgers failed in that respect. He simply did not play to their strengths.

Absolutely. Borinis game is on movement and running into channels. His finishing isn't great all of the time (wasn't bad at sunderland when he was confident) but he was just never really given a chance. Surely he would have been better than Balotelli and Lambert for your style. For a starters he's actually quite pacey (not up there with sturridge or Sterling) and he has a lot of energy

Borini's record in the top flight is crap though, he was just a bad buy, who you should have moved on last summer when you had the chance.
