Kondogbia set to sign for Inter for £22m.

Team came 8th and are out of Europe but can still attract good young talent...

Seems like Inter are willing to splash the cash a bit to get competitive again.

Don't care what anyone says money talks.

In Italy. House, car? All provided... tax? What is this tax you speak of?

If inter are buying him that to my mind gives encouragement to the idea that kovacic becomes available.

Besiktas looking to bring in Balotelli once they get rid of Ba apparently...

While we're looking at Llorente now Mandzukic is going to Juve.

Don't understand that if true. I like Llorente as a player, thought he was very good in Spain as he's not your typical Spanish striker so offered something different. However, again don't see him suiting us really.

It seems like we're hell bent on buying a central target man to build the attack around with small quicker players playing off them (Ings, Sturridge, Origi).

Llorrente would be fantastic - Magic, 2010.

Never heard of Gomez so will reserve judgement.. However, bracing myself for a low key uninspiring season, following the trend of our Summer so far. I expect the trend to continue too under Brendan, my own suspicion is there's not enough about him to the top quality talent, backed up by the FSG style wage structures/incentives, the truth is most top players both young and old can get a better deal elsewhere, perhaps echoed by the whole Sterling saga.

Liverpool go cool on Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke as focus switches to Fernando Llorente and Carlos Bacca
Liverpool turn to Juve's Fernando Llorente and Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca after refusing to meet Christian Benteke's release fee

Liverpool are turning their attentions to the Juventus striker Fernando Llorente and Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca after refusing to meet the £32.5 million release fee to sign Christian Benteke from Aston Villa.

Do Llorente or Bacca make our top 100 transfer targets gallery?

Llorente is expected to be made available by the Italian champions, who are reshaping their attack this summer and signing Atlético Madrid’s Mario Mandzukic, while Sevilla have insisted, so far, that Bacca is not for sale.

There is understood to be a €30 million (£21.4 million) release clause in Bacca’s contract, which Sevilla say has to be met, while Juventus may try to hold out for as much as €20 million (£14.3 million) for Llorente but will probably let him go for less.

Liverpool are determined to add to their strike-force and had targeted Benteke, having signed Danny Ings, for a fee to be set by a tribunal but which could be £5 million to £7 million, although they will not bid anywhere near the Belgian international’s buy‑out clause. As that interest has started to cool, possibly to see whether Villa lower their asking price, Liverpool are examining the possibility of signing either Llorente or Bacca.

Llorente, the Spanish international, is 30 while Bacca – a prolific goalscorer in La Liga, who is representing Colombia in the Copa América, where he was sent off with Neymar in the fiery group game against Brazil – is 28.

Although their age does not fit in with the preferred policy of Liverpool’s owners, the Fenway Sports Group, who want to sign younger players, Brendan Rodgers has argued for more experienced quality to strengthen his squad having already brought in 29‑year-old James Milner.

Benteke is 24 and although he emerged as Liverpool’s No 1 target the club do not want to meet the release clause which was inserted when he signed a £50,000-a-week deal two years ago after initially submitting a transfer request amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool want to pay closer to £20 million, it is thought.

Despite Juventus also being expected to allow Carlos Tévez to leave – and probably return to Argentina to rejoin Boca Juniors – Llorente has fallen further down the pecking order with Mandzukic’s impending arrival, for around €18 million (£12.9 million), and the signing of Paul Dybala. They already have Álvaro Morata.

Liverpool are also poised to make a fresh bid for right-back Nathaniel Clyne having had an initial £9 million offer rejected by Southampton, who are holding out for £15 million for the England international. Again Liverpool will not go close to that valuation – Clyne has just one year left on his contract – but may reach a compromise price of £11 million to £12 million.

Southampton have signed Clyne’s replacement after beating Stoke City to the Portugal defender Cedric Soares, who was signed from Sporting Lisbon for £4.7 million.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino, who is expected to leave German club Hoffenheim with his agent claiming the Brazilian will move to the Premier League. Sources at Manchester United have distanced themselves from claims that the club are negotiating a deal while it is unclear how firm Liverpool’s interest is.

United apparently interested in Lacazette now.

    Depay, Lacazette, Firmino.

That would be one hell of an exciting strike force. Hope it's not true :(

But none of them would get the freedom they need to excel because Rooney rules that roost.

You'd think it was a scoop by the express eh?

I think one question that's not been answered is how sky sauces have had their hands on the info within 5mins of each bid and decision.

I would love to know what city officials think as I am thinking lfc have leaked the lot.

Preparing a big for Firmino and reviving interest in Kono on a freebie.

Would love the first and the 2nd would be a good cheap replacement for Sterling.

Liverpool have reportedly switched their sights to to Juventus striker Fernando Llorente to solve their goalscoring woes.
The Reds had been linked with a move for Christian Benteke, but the Daily Mail report they are unwilling to meet Aston Villa's £32.5million valuation for the Belgian hotshot.
Carlos Bacca is also apparently on their radar, after the Sevilla striker fired his side to Europa League glory last term.
Llorente looks set to leave Juve, after the club struck a deal with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Mario Mandzukic to partner former Real Madrid hitman Alvaro Morata up front.
Liverpool have struggled to replace the goals of Luis Suarez, who left Anfield for Barcelona prior to the start of last season.
If Liverpool opt for Bacca, they could face competition from Roma who are also in the hunt for his signature.
Bacca hit 28 goals last term, but his £21million release clause may put the Reds hierarchy off.

Llorente is just lazy journalism, hopefully, given we were linked with him years ago. Wouldn't fit our team.

We'll be linked with Turan again soon...

Inter being close to signing Kondogbia is great news for us as it means they definitely need to sell a midfielder to cover the costs. They're trying to offload players, but not many clubs are biting. We're one of the few and we're the only one with a bid on the table for Kovacic. I think they'll ask for a bit more then take it if no one else shows an interest in their players.

Don't trust all the media, we did put in an offer and we are interested. Inter need to sell someone, they'd prefer not to sell Kovacic but they may have no choice.
