Cech isn't a top goalkeeper anyway, imo. He makes quite a few small errors but does nothing huge so they aren't as memorable as big mistakes that someone like De Gea did in his first few seasons at Man Utd. He's a good addition to Arsenal who get an experienced goalkeeper but I don't think its much of a loss for Chelsea who have a much superior goalkeeper and one that's a lot younger.
Bacca and Solomon being linked now. Bacca ca looked good for Sevilla and looks like can handle himself, strong and stocky but a bit mental. At 28/29 he's at his peak now though so might only get 2/3 good season and that's if he hits the ground running. Cost upwards of £20m though as Sevilla will be reluctant to sell. No idea about this other guy?
You're paying Henderson £100k per week and you've got rid of Johnson and Gerrard who were taking £250k per week between them You could have afforded him, that's mince.
Cech not a top keeper? ****ing lol. He's still one of the best in Europe, there's nothing to choose between him and Courtois, aside from their respective ages.
And Courtois being miles better. Better with his feet, better 1v1 and more dominant. Cech pre-head injury was a top keeper, he hasn't been ever since and it'll be interesting to see how he does without the protection of the best defensive unit in the league.
But we need a top class cf who is going to be on 100k plus and Milner has taken over Johnsons wage packet.
Miles better my arse, Chelsea conceded 5 less league goals in the previous season to Courtois arrival btw. Cech is the best available keeper on the market, hence the reason he was being linked with numerous top clubs. His decision to stay in London could prove to be very fortuitous for Arsenal as he'll gain them points next season. They're a striker and another CB away from a title challenging side now imo
Stones worth £15m FFS this is exactly what is meant by English being overpriced All Stones has done is been given a run of games for 1 season by virtue of the alternative being Alcaraz Then he's been part of an awful defence that has seen the 7th most expensive squad in the league plummet to 11th place
If you'd have wanted a keeper you could have afforded him, making out that finances deprived you of the chance to bid is absolute bollocks mate
Real value yes. But his transfer fee would be much higher. You want a genuine £20m plus young CB try Laporte, Varane etc Him 'being English' doesn't increase his real value. It increases his worth to the buying/selling club, inflating the fee. For the record I think Stones could be a very solid player. Needs another year at Everton then move to a competitive club.
That's nonsensical. What a club pays is the value of a player, whether others consider that value to be excessive or not is irrelevant. Stones won't be going anywhere this summer
I didn't mean we couldn't have literally afforded him.. of course we could. But a GK wasn't top priority and not many clubs have 2 keepers earning 100k each. Yes we could afford him if we really wanted, but reality is, with the way we need to improve the squad, having 2 keepers on that amount of money wasn't feasible. We'd have had to get rid of Mig if we were to get Cech. That 11m and £100k needs to go towards a CF not another keeper.
Stones won't be going anywhere because his worth is 10 million (the max anyone will be likely to pay) whereas you deluded lot will probably want 30 . Should cash in now while there's still some hype, otherwise it could be Barkley all over again.
So if City pay £50m for Sterling then that's his value... But according to your post earlier, they have already bid more than his value? Bit contradictory there Tobes
No that's too simple... this is just a way of breaking down the inflation in transfer fees. Certainly not worth getting annoyed about I never said he was...
Realistic values: Sterling = £15m to £20m Stones = £12m to £15m Crazy prices for young English and British based players: Sterling =£50m+ Stones = £35m+ #crazytax Neither are witwh the crazy figures but both have the potential to get to that level. Ultimately, their worth is whatever someone is willing to pay or how much their current club want to keep them.
My subjective opinion doesn't alter the fact that his value will be set by what they pay, nothing contradictory at all, let it permeate pet.
