Apartheid was the name given to the white South African government's racial segregationist policy from 1948. Over the following few decades the word "apartheid" tended to be used in other countries when discussing general racial inequality matters not just South African. The Afrikaans word "apartheid" means "apartness" or "apart-hood" before it was hijacked to mean an abhorrent social system. The football pictures in this thread show an apartness of black and white players. That becomes sinister when taken in the context of how black and white people used to be apart or segregated in South Africa (and still are in many parts of the world).

unfortunately in this day and age with the media imposing on everything, situations like this need to be avoided by the management, simply by having seating plans for meals, or making the lads aware of the potential implications by sticking with their respective friends. Well, young men earning up to £100,000 a week are hardly examples of some oppressed minority. As for multiculturism, that is a failure. It causes division and encourages separation. You don't see multiculturism in Muslim countries for example.
