Now that Given seems to have got his first team place back at Villa, I can't see him coming down to the championship. If the right keeper was available, all well and good, but I'd be happy to go with Bettinelli again next season.

As with many I would take a new keeper if the right came available but I'm happy to go with betts, if we do have a £10 million transfer kitty I would much rather see it spent on fullbacks and a new centre back and a defensive midfielder, 10 million for 5 players should be do able especially as we could swap Amore for Husband so using no money

A local paper is saying that we’re interested in Palace’s Frazier Campbell, who missed the last two months of last season with a hamstring injury.

He's certainly got pace and can work the channels - which we need especially now the Hugo's gone. And adds to the speculation (mine) that Matt Smith and/or Adam Taggart are on their way out.

Since it’s gone all quiet over at Fulham thought I’d mention a couple of old favourites:

    Orlando Sa to Reading?

“The former Portugal international, who made his sole appearance for the national team in 2009, enjoyed a successful season in Poland with Legia Warsaw, finishing the league just one point behind champions Lech Poznan and winning the Polish Cup, while personally scoring 13 goals in 25 league games.

Bobby Zamora going back to Brighton or could he be following JAR to India?

Oh, and since Scott Carson has signed for Derby, take it that our lack of interest confirms that we’re only looking for backup to Marcus Bettinelli

Where are the 2 full backs everybody who watches Fulham know we are so desperate for
Does this not feature in Kits required need for promotion,
I have said it so many times, and will persist ~ A NEW BACK 3. Will I eat my words comes Oct
    or be agreed with.

We def need two new full backs and prob a centre back but I'm willing to give the club til the end of July before judging disappointment or not! Although we do need defenders most of the non defensive Players we have been linked with I would take.....

    Pringle
    Cairny
    Campbell
    Gayle
    Emenike

And another oh, this time for the man Mark Hughes fell out with Chelsea about. Sevilla have confirmed the permament signing of Gael Kakuta from Chelsea for around €3.5m. Well, at £2m-ish for a young left sided wing forward, it suggests we’re not interested in buying in someone for that spot.

[This one was really posted only for Fulhaman]

The latest stories are that we’ve lost out on getting Brighton’s Lewis Dunk so have moved onto Brentford’s James Tarkowski

The 22 year-old was a key figure in the Brentford defence that helped the Bees reach a play-off semi-final a year after being promoted from League One, making 38 appearances and scoring eight goals. He joined Brentford from Oldham, where he made 89 appearances in three years

Do you reckon the Club are waiting to settle the deal with our new shirt sponsor before announcing the array of new signings that must surely have been made by now - all suitably pictured with said new shirt and said new sponsor’s logo?

PS My grapevine says that the new shirt sponsor is GAC Logistics, who also sponsor the Jacksonville lot!

From what I've heard, those are two decent players. Why don't we wait to actually see them play before we rubbish them? Just a thought.

The main question is do they improve our squad and I think the answer is yes on both accounts, Lonergan is an improvement on the out going Kiraly, and Pringle was arguably the best player for a team in our division and was the best player on the park when we played against him!

Kunye I thought you be pleased that Kit is keeping his rumoured £10 million transfer kitty for defenders

If we have a new sponsor next season what do we do with the black away one from last season which was supposed to be our 3rd choice strip next season? Do we have 2 strips with one sponsor and a third strip with another? Or do the club just abandon the strip altogether?

Reported today on WS is that Brentford have turned a 1.5m bid for their talented
22yo full back James Tarkowski, they it appears are looking nearer to 3m
His performance rating is as follows
    positional sense ~ v good
    tackling ~ strong
    distribution ~ v good
    speed & recovery ~ 80%
analysis was based on last seasons performances with Brentford.
Seems just the player we could do with to fill one
    of the full back positions.

About a week ago I read we were interested in Blackpool’s Jamie O’Hara but discounted it as so unlikely as to be laughable. I knew we’d been interested in him during Jol’s time but he’d gone to Wolves (for a rumoured £5m) and his time there can only be described as meltdown. By “mutual consent” they parted company and he spent the beginning of last season on “gardening leave” before joining Blackpool in November on a short-term contract.

Now however, Cauley Woodrow has started a twitter-fest - that we either have or are about to sign him. Apparently the speculation has arisen because Cauley followed him and Ben Pringle on twitter at the same time.

There’s no doubting the 28yr old O’Hara’s ability … if he were fit. And there’s the rub. In 2010 on rejoining Spurs after a loan spell at Pompey he had surgery on a back injury. In 2011 he joined Wolves permanently but missed most of the season after another two bouts of surgery and didn‘t get back into the first team until January 2013. Wolves were relegated that season and O’Hara was truly out of favour from then on; manager Kenny Jacket citing “lack of fitness“ for not playing him.

My first thought was, would he be any better than Danny Guthrie, who we apparently were happy to let go? Can’t see that he would be. So … this is simply one of those “no news day” stories inflamed by twitter. Surely it must be, mustn’t it!??
