O'Hara played well against us in the away game at Blackpool, and on that form would be a good addition, but I think his big problem has been that he suffered a double fracture in his spine, and I heard him say on radio surgery was done but complications set in, and he was lucky to come out of it not paralysed. So I think that's why Blackpool took a bit of a gamble, so would it be a bit of a gamble for us too. Guthrie is another injury prone player and didn't seem fit when he came to us.
After going quiet for a while Twitter has suddenly burst into life regarding the rumour of Blackburns Tom Cairny to Fulham, it is being reported that a £3.2 million deal has been agreed and some reports stating it will be announced in the next 48 hours! I really hope this is true, I know a rumour can snowball quickly on Twitter but thought I would keep any non twitter users updated
I would like to make it clear that I am not in the know and any info comes from scouring the worldwide web, the Cairney rumours are suddenly becoming a tide that Moses would struggle to hold back and it sounds like it may well be a done deal, I also came across a big if info stating we have made a third and much improved offer for Dunk at Brighton!
Report in to nights sports gossip pages is that Genoa have made a bid for Dembele £ 315,000 are they taking the p..s, we it is reported have made an increase bid for James Tarkowski
It appears in this mornings Cottage gossip we are interested in Man U utility full back Reece Jones who has been on loan at Huddersfield last season unfortunately he is also wanted by Watford and Norwich " so what chance have we got" Tom Cairney of Blackburn was also mentioned, to secure the signings of these 2 could be a good asset to the team.
Few rumours on twitter coming in that Swindon have accepted bids from Fulham and QPR for Nathan Byrne, don't know anything about the lad, looked him up and he is down as a playing winger / full back not sure which one is his main position
Blackburn have apparently rejected our approaches for Cairney. Source: http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/blackburn-reject-fulham-enquiry-for-midfielder/
Looks like Byrne is going to QPR over us but the fact we put in an offer also suggests we are not confident about completing the Jazz Richards deal
However our friends, the twitters, are confidendent that we've signed Tom Cairney from Blackburn for £3.5m - based on a story in the Mirror. Oh, and Jamie O'Hara from Blackpool on a free when he gets back from Dubai.
I'm not so sure Ireland, it's when it gets onto to Sky and BBC that it is stronger than Twitter especially as they are reporting he is having a medical rather than just reporting a bid!!! On the plus side with Cairney and Pringle I can't see us playing the diamond I can't see how they will both fit into it!!
I've seen many many deals that were 'close' pop up on the Fulham page on Sky Sports website through the years that never materialised. If he's having a medical today we can probably expect it to be announced mid August knowing Fulham. All Blackburn fans on Twitter seem to be giving out that Cairney is leaving because he was never played in his preferred position. Excuse my ignorance but could somebody fill me in as to what that is? I thought he was a Centre Mid which is where I thought they were playing him.
He is an attacking centre midfielder, but apparently Blackburn were playing him wide right, a bit like we did with Ruiz for his first three years to accommodate Berbatov, Cairny wasn't happy with this! Although if Kit sticks with the Diamond he may well find himself out on the right again
If we do sign Cairney and O'Hara we'll have three of the 10 most creative midfielders from last season. please log in to view this image
We should try and get Pritchard on Loan from Spurs and we would be looking good, a midfield four of........... Pringle. LVC. Cairney. Pritchard
Just went on the Blackburn forums to see there reaction to losing Cairney and I saw a couple of posts from today stating they are in contract talks with Jamie O'Hara which was interesting because looking at Fulham forums there a quite a few people who seem to think he has pretty much signed for us and will be announced soon
Pretty much what I was going to say about Kit and the Diamond. And Cairney's stats suggests (despite his own personal preference) that he's done better on the right - played 16 games on the right = 3 goals, 3 assists played 16 games at CM and CAM = 0 goals, 2 assists
I would have thought that LVC would be handed the right side of the diamond; Cairney would seem instead to spell the end instead for Kaca (assuming Ruiz is already gone).
I didn't realise it but Sako is out of contract in 5 days time and is leaving Wolves, there manager stated he expects him to join a premier league club, what are the chances of us nipping in?
