I think the term 'released' is misleading. I know you've cut and paste this and it is technically correct but there should be a distinction between who wasnt offered a deal and who rejected one. Vlaar is the perfect example.

Where the premier league makes a lot of money and shares it among its clubs to create a fierce competition, Barcelona and Real Madrid take all the money in Spain leaving a handful of half decent clubs that occasionally put together a truly decent team and a truckload of ****e to make up the numbers.
