Apparently Arsenal will look to offload Sonogo this summer. I know absolutely nothing except Wenger thought highly of him. Any thoughts?
He is bad then. Thought he would be better than that. Clubs still paid good money for him though, strangely it would seem. Remember him and Darren Eadie making their debuts against Bayern. Eadie looked great, Akinbiyi not so.
Maybe that was a bit harsh, but a mate of mine, an Arsenal fan was every time he played for them - at whatever level, and totally when he was sent out on loan, to Palace I think? No better than what we already have and not the answer to a new life in the Prem, imho.
Transfer Central TNC @TransferNewsCen 3m3 minutes ago Newcastle want Chelsea duo Marco van Ginkel and Patrick Bamford on loan. (Daily Fail)
Van Ginkel would be a great player to get as Wes's understudy. Plays anywhere across the midfield but primarily used as a CAM. We don't exactly need to bolster our midfield options much but one really good attacking CM is who I'd be after and Ginkel fits that bill.
I think it's a relationship thing. The impression I get is that football is still quite a lot about who you know and how easily you can work with them, and if you get on and behave sensibly in the ludicrous world of football transfers, people will want to deals again. I suspect ever since we got a decent advance deal for Pilks, our board and their board have decided that they like doing business with each other because they know people aren't going to behave stupidly. It works more in their favour at the moment because obviously we have more players that they might be interested in than they do, but I wouldn't be surprised that if they have something of a gem we might be front of the queue by virtue of a good relationship.
Ah, but if we had got him the first time I doubt we would have spent last season in the championship, thus depriving us of doubling the binners, again, and then beating them in the playoffs. Side note:- we have doubled the d binners FOUR times since they last accomplished this feat against us. Ancient history? Meaningless.
As I understand it AN sees Andreu as competition and eventual replacement for Wes having got him fit and strong enough for our game in the last 4 months and with pre-season training to come.
Seems fair enough. Certainly showed some impressive signs at Hamilton, hope he can bring that goal scoring knack to us.
