Brady would be a good signing, not for anything more than £5m though

It's interesting that Brady wears the number 11 shirt at Hull and is listed as a LW/LB in Wiki. That would seem to suit our needs more than another LB, though I really like Robertson as a player. I don't think there are going to be many new signings and I tend to agree with Carrabuh that at least some of those should be 'exciting' rather than yet more 'solid' players.

Archant - alias EDP are reporting the Brady, McArthur, Lowton, Guidetti and McCormack rumours in today's edition.
I took the liberty of leaving them a comment - with a tiny 'plugette' for this forum <ok>

Someone else has added a comment since mine - and they want Snodgrass back. <yikes>
Hmm, could be a 'goer' - especially if AN manages to reintegrate Wolfman <laugh>

According to Whoscored's profile of Brady, at Hull last year he started 11 games as a DML, 3 games as ML, and one game at WL and another at AM. They suggest that he played primarily on the left of a 5 man mid-field or as a wing-back most of the time. Does anybody know if that's the case?

This depends on the stength of McArthur and Neil's relationship. Good player and a signing I would be very pleased with but will all be about that relationship.

Palace can make us pay for him but ultimately they'd struggle to stop him. To be honest I agree this is probably lazy journalism but the article forgets the human element

Off topic - somewhat, but it does relate to player transfers.

I think of all (actually very little to be honest) the speculation, the Brady one seems the most likely.

I know Hull played a 5 man defence a lot, using wing backs. The difference between a ML, DML and WL player is probably a reflection of the opposition, with him playing deeper against stronger teams. I probably should have phrased my earlier comment as "paying £15m for someone turning out at LB".

Now they'll just come here and steal rumours! <laugh> Perhaps we should start something subtly made up and see if they take the bait.

    Woops, triple posting...

Joel Campbell has just agreed a move to Real Sociedad for about £6m. Surprised there wasn't Premier League interest at that price, unless Arsenal insisted on a move abroad.

We need to get Mad Brewer on this board.

    He's always interesting.

Some talk on NewsNow of Hooper to Huddersfield on loan. Can't see it myself, surely he wants another crack at the EPL?

Actually I was going to comment that that's the one thing we don't want! Does my head in he does with some really quite terrible 'banter'. I really don't want him all over this site if I'm being honest

It appears to be one of the more ludicrous stories emanating from the press. If we have no plans to use him in the PL surely we would sell him to generate funds for a replacement. Or will we be hedging our bets and retaining his services in case we get relegated, hoping he will be useful back in the championship.

What is it with us and Huddersfield? That would be Holt, Butterfield, The lad that was injured a lot for us (striker) can't think of his name but he scored a few for the Terriers last season and now Hooper. Very odd, is it just a way of players eventually moving from Leeds to Huddersfield?

Thank you Suffolk. I hoped that by the end of writing my piece it would come back to me but you have come to the rescue. Vaughan to me was a little like Jackson, a good quality Championship player but not quite PL standard. His injury prone season did not help of course.

It's understandable Thurnby, he had a very forgettable time here, plagued by injury, can only have made 4 or 5 appearances and from memory he didn't score in those games, then went out on loan the next season.
