Proschwitz, Sagbo, Altidore and Hernandez are the 'Rock Hudsons' of football - they look the part but don't get turned on when they're in the box!

To be honest I think it's a bit of both. Have we ever signed a striker who was prolific before and after playing for us but not while with us?

Not latley because premiership goal scorers are out of our reach but we haven't at championship level either. Everyone's a punt but when you take a punt or buy prolific you have to play to their strengths to give them the best chance of scoring, we don't id even say we don't get the best out of jelavic because of the way we play

But when have we ever really bought a prolific striker?

Jelavic hadn't scored in what, 18 months, in the PL before coming to us. He could have been another Graham who didn't score, but instead he scored 12 PL goals for us, which is nothing to sneeze at.

Think a huge partnof our problem that people have already touched on is thudds distribution and all round speed of play hes just too slow whether that be getting forward, closing down passing speed everythings done at a relaxed snails pace need far more urgency.

We need a deep lying play maker i think quinn can play the role perfectly in the championship and we should look to play through him rather than huddlestone, he, d go fine with diame next to him playing the box to box role i think even meyler if needs be could do the donkey work next to quinn, need hudds out the team at all costs ,

    …........................mcgregor/new gk
    Lenihan/new rb...daws.....chester.......brady
    ........meyler/diame............quinn...............
    Snodgrass............diame............robertson
    .........................new striker......................

Until we make new signings, think robertson needs to be pushed further forward as bradys better defensivley and robertsons better beating his man

Absolutely bang on. Every other team has pop shots from everywhere - Hence McGregor conceding more shots from outside the area than any other PL keeper. I can't remember the last time we had a shot on target from outside the area. By shot, I mean a shot from open play, not a free kick.

Hull City Keeper Linked With Walsall

Walsall have this morning been linked with a move for former Hull City goalkeeper, Mark Oxley.

Oxley has represented England at Under 18 and Under 20 level and has been at Hull City since 2008.

Oxley started his career with Rotherham but was scouted by higher league clubs and it was Hull City who signed him in the summer of 2008 for a fee of £150,000 upon their promotion to the Premier League.

Oxley only made one appearance for Hull and was loaned out to the Saddlers in 2009 however he was only an usused substitute.

He continued going out on loan and enjoyed spells at Grimsby, Burton, Oldham and most recently Hibernian.

Oxley scored for Hibernian on his debut in August 2014 with a long clearance which evaded everyone.

Oxley's loan spell with Hibs ended this summer.

We haven't even announced that we've released him yet. <laugh>

    Livermore's goal against Spurs...

Aluko has had quite a few, however I've seen 5 year olds hit a ball with more pace and power than he does, he pretty much passes it to their keeper...

    This sounds to me like Robertson would be happy for offers to come in for him;

"The manager's comments are flattering but I don't read too much into it," he told the Scottish Sun. "He might have had a few beers on holiday or whatever! We'll wait and see."
