I just wonder if the rain is doing more of a favour to England or not...
With five sessions to bat [if it hadn't rained] there would have allowed the England batsmen to play their natural game. Who knows; with enough overs to actually score the runs, albeit a test record chase if it happened, it wouldn't be beyond the realms of fantasy. Fifth day wickets aren't the minefields they were back in the day and this looks like a really good pitch.
With the rest of the day now washed out there isn't enough time left for England to knock the runs off, which means a more defensive approach, allowing the kiwis to play more attacking fields. This will probably result in England being bowled out before tea tomorrow, losing by 200+ runs.
Hope I'm wrong though
